Influences
I am influenced by just about everyone I meet or have ever met.
..
When I was young, I wanted to be a journalist, a writer, a poet, a painter of words ~ until I picked up a guitar...
Now I write songs and sing; little pieces of dreams, tragic meanderings, things.
I love the ocean, the wind before a storm, the turn of the moon...
I love my family, my friends and my dogs ~ in no particular order. I truly like just about everyone else ;-)

If you visit, I am thankful. If you write, I'll do my best to answer.
"Lizanne Knott is a beautiful talent. Soft spoken words, intelligent poetic lyrics and a voice that defies any age. A class act all the way around and beloved by her friends and fans alike. A rare artist."

" A fearless writer, undeniably gifted with a voice to call on angels and a smile that could light a stadium".
JJ Waller
The Road and Beyond 2009
"Intoxicating; Her voice pulls you into her music and takes you deep into yourself. I
can imagine that even people that are not truly intensive
listeners, will be hooked. An uncut diamond, she shines away with her many facets."
Rootstime Magazine Review, 2009
"Listening to Lizanne Knott is like a drive through Swindon's Magic Circle. You know you're going to go round and round for a while, never sure where you're coming to. Take it from me, it'll be someplace good."

Poem 162 of 230, WalkaboutsVerse (please see my blog): TEES TO TYNE: FIRST IMPRESSIONS - SUMMER 2001
Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?
