Lizard Lounge (now OFFICIALLY Lizard Lounge Entertainment & Events) has a colourful history, somewhat brief but none the less riviting. Founder, Lauren Sobels, opened the Lizard Lounge Cafe/music venue in July 2004. The venue was situated in the basement on Hindley St., Adelaide, South Australia.
The Lizard Lounge soon became a favourite with a variety of Adelaide bands from an array of genres. In late 2005 the Lizard Lounge had a run of hard luck with authorities, the format no longer fit with local licensing laws.
Lauren began to look to move to a bigger site in order to house their growing crowds. The Lizard Crew eventually found their feet at the Night Tain Complex & Viva in Light Square.
After running the huge venue for nearly 2 years the owner of the iconic theatre decided to retire and Lizard Lounge in partnership with JP Entertainment decided to take on the venue and keep it running. With the new name L!VE on Light Square I think it is obvious what we do. LIVE MUSIC ALL THE WAY!!!
We have two stages in the venue, one which have capacity of appx 550 guests, the other has a max capacity of 100.LIVE has three fully eqquiped bars, dressing rooms, and state of the art sound and light equipmentthanks to JP Entertainment Group.
Having settled into the new venue comfortably hosting some of SA's biggest tours and putting on shows which have seen the biggest line-ups of local bands and artists in some time Lizard Lounge is now working on Un-Licensed All Age shows for comming months.
