I love to go out and dance or stay in and dance, I'm not picky about the environment as long as I can git jiggy wit' it, git my groove on, shake my grove thang, work it out on the dancefloor, did I mention dance?? I'll also settle for bobb'n my head to good grooves if there is no room to dance. Ok, I have other interests...hunting for vintage booty, shopping,
personal shopping for my friends (what cha' need?), roller skating, art/museums, breakfast any time of the day, road trips, traveling, going to the movies or staying home and catching up on the ones I haven't seen, crusing ala mi bicicleta, summertime in the NYCity, milkshakes, papusas, CHICHARRONES, cupcakes, rock'n it over-sized, Indian food upstairs to the left (but the right is good too), late night into early morning kinda hang-out sessions that end with breakfast, salami and cheese, Macarooni and cheese from Mama's NYC, cheese in general and most things w/ cheese, $1 dumplings, grape soda, a cup of hot tea, different varieties of GUM, fleamarkets/garage/yard sales/thrift stores/swap meets/tag sales/estate sales (you get the picture), borrowing DVD's from the library, table top Galaga, finding money, hand made "little friends", kickball, stripes, really big sunglasses, really big earrings, big booty bitches, sewing, and free fun! I am also an offical "sneaker geek".

Heroes
My Mom!!, Mama Maria, Nana, Grandma Rose, Auntie Yvonne, my Papa (the original "My Hero"!), mi amigo Ebbe Roe Yovino-Smith.
About me: I was born into this. I had no choice. I am a second-hand-rose. Before I was even brought into this world my Mom and my Nana would comb the thirft stores of Oakland, California putting together the wardrobe for the child that would be. Once I arrived, weekends where spent "garage saleing" with my mom and dad. It is there that my dad taught me two things: 1) "You never know what tiny treasure is on that table" translation: stop at all gargage sales and 2) "This car stops at all garage sales!", the bumper sticker my dad said our car needed. If we weren't "saleing", then it was bus trips to the Salvation Army in downtown Oakland to visit my Nana, who worked there for years.
We are a product of our environment and mine happened to be diggin through peoples "unwantables"...to find that gem, the score, a little something that gets your blood pumping and the adrenaline going, like you just got over on the world. The proof is in the picture, 3 generations of "junkers": my mom, grandma Rose and me.
I consider myself a modern day pirate hunting for buried treasure or booty if you will. My ship is my Saturn Vue and my ocean is the countless number of thrift stores, garage sales, fleamarkets, etc. that can be found in every cornor of the country.
Who I'd like to meet: Goodtime gansta’s ‘n funny-ha-ha prankster’s, danc’n fools ‘n those “not too cool fer school”, cuddle bunnies ‘n stacks of monies, lazy day lads ‘n busy ladies, a lil’ ghetto flash, a bit-o-highfalut’n-class, down town do-gooders ‘n up town git downers, party dress prissy’s ‘n “hooker heel” hoodlums, riddim makers ‘n booty bass shakers, sneaker geeks ‘n computer freaks, million dolla’ mamas, less all the dramas, “ai papi” cuties ‘n big booty beauties, hard hussl’n hussla’s, patna’s in “crime” who wanna spend time build’n ‘n shake’n money, money make’n, secondhand roses with fancy painted toeses, hyphee lyph live’n with lot’s-o-love a given, roll with the punchers ‘n let’s “really” do lunchers, legitamit ladies ‘n kind soul mateys…fo’ real folks…in it to win it.

ROXY COTTONTAIL'S REVIEW:
This week in NYC the Jacob Javits Center hosted the International Beauty Show. Kat & I were fortunate to attend on behalf of M.I.S.S. and uncover some of the future beauty trends you may see at a salon near you sometime this year. It was a blast! We received a crazy detoxification that I’m still not 100% sure was legit. My dad says it’s a farce. I kinda believe him, it was just too weird and disgusting to be true. The upside was we saw new hair techniques, amazing nails that lit up, stylists dancing while cutting hair (scary), new nail techniques, new spa treatments and it seems everyone wants soy in their products right now.
Read the review, check out all the photos and watch the videos on M.I.S.S.!
