| General | I am a deputy black belt in Tae Kwon Do; I am also a professional singer, fronting the Band of Gold (www.bandofgoldonline.com) for the past 10 years; I love history. I am a huge fanof historical fiction novels and anything to do with Elizabethan and Tudor England; For several years I have dedicated myself to several charities including the Susan Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, and the Mecklenburg Area Catholic Schools. I also volunteer with the Charlotte Children's Choir | | Music | Music, all types. It's the soundtrack to life. I listen to Jazz when I'm feeling mellow, Blues when I'm sad. I love to Rock out to some great Alice in Chains of Led Zeppelin, but can also appreciate a Mozart opera | | Movies | As a woman I of course love the obligatory "chick flick"--
When Harry Met Sally; You've Got Mail; A Walk To Remember; A Walk In The Clouds. Then there are the other films I enjoy--Young Frankenstein and Blazing Saddles top my comedy choices. But I also thin The Deer Hunter and Easy Rider should be in every movie buff's collection. And don't forget The Quiet Man | | Television | Since I hit the sack fairly early every evening I have missed the last 20 years of sit com hell. I tend to gravitate towards Law and Order reruns or anything on The Science Channel, Discovery, or TLC. With a kid in the house, the tube usually is set on Cartoon Network and Nickelodeon and Disney | | Books | The Historian--great fiction about Vlad Dracul and his descendents through the modern era; anything about Henry VIII and his wives as well; also any and everything written by Nicholas Sparks | | Heroes | Jesus Christ and the Blessed Mother Mary; my own mother Beverly Luke; Anne Bolyn (read about her); Courtney Hester--a dear friend who is battling breast cancer and maintaining dignity and grace |

Who I'd like to meet:
Being in the media I've had the opportunity to meet thousands of people, both famous and infamous, the average Joe and the neighbor next door. Every person has a story to tell, everyone is interesting in his or her own way. I'd love to meet more so called ordinary Americans who are making a difference in their communities by the way they conduct themselves, their contributions to society, and the legacy they hope to leave behind. I hope to emulate some of these everyday heroes.
