The Institute is situated in Llanhilleth, off the A467 near Abertillery. Click here for map and directions.

Visit our website hereLlanhilleth Acoustic Showcaseis a monthly evening of acoustic-based music at the Llanhilleth Institute near Abertillery in South Wales. The showcase takes place on the second Thursday of every month, starting with open mic from 8pm followed by an invited guest act.

Who I'd like to meet:
Performers with a strong sense of originality and innovation of song, performance and interpretation, for both the Showcase and open mic.Here is a selection of performers who we've welcomed to the Showcase over the past few months:
On 9th December we welcomed Jon Airdrie and the Shelleys, a passionate, rootsy, impossible-to-pin-down bunch. This was a rare outing for the multifarious Shelleys. We welcomed the ‘big band line-up’ (if someone tells you that they have played in the band, they are probably telling the truth) with a fine set of musicians complimenting Jon’s original material. Here they are performing at Cardiff's Llanover Hall:
Our fifth evening was on Tuesday 13th January with the outstanding Stephen Light and the Black Sand Band. Here's the band playing their song "Kissing Martha Wainwright":
