Christmas Gift Appeal for NICRAS + Christmas Melting Pot Party 17th Dec http://themeltingpot-lmhr.blogspot.com/ Please RT昨天。 來自 Twitter 檢視更多

Love Music Hate Racism NI is about using the positive energy of music to combat the scourge of racism and hate crime.
A report published in 2005 by the NI Council for Ethnic Minorities branded the North of Ireland as the ‘Race Hate Capital of Europe’. However there are lots of people fighting this including us, and all you have to do is jump aboard.
LMHR-NI aims to be a part of the fight against racism and sectarianism by putting on gigs right across the North as a show of solidarity. It's about educating people and a show of unity, but its also about having fun, making new friends, and mixing with like minded people.
Anyone can get involved with LMHR, just put on a gig, club, quiz, movie night all in the name of Love Music Hate Racism. Join us so that we can put out a clear message that racism will not be tolerated in any shape or form, by anyone, anywhere.
We have had some fantistic bands and artists perform for us that includes Duke Special, Aziz Ibrahim, Red Sirus, Fighting With Wire, Talking Drum, Little Hooks, The Subtitles, Tin Pot Operation, Indigo Fury, Jinx Lennon, Sirocco MCs, Fiach, Acoustic Dan, Voyager, Civilian, Jim Walker, Just A Word, Brian Faloon, And So I watch You From Afar, The Q, Balkan Alien Sound, Colm Bryce, plus many more and we want to say a huge thank you for your support.
If you are in a band/solo and would like to be involved and would be happy to offer your services to help spread an important message and support a great cause. Then send us a message and we will get back to you.
Oppose the Myths about Migrant Workers
MYTH: Most immigrants are asylum seekers who have come here to get benefits
TRUTH: Less than 100 asylum seekers come here each year. Most flee from war torn countries. None are allowed to claim benefits – if they can prove destitution they are given an amount significantly less than the lowest rate of income support
MYTH: Immigrants are a drain on the economy
TRUTH: Immigrants make up 8.7% of the UK population but contribute 10.2% of all income tax collected
MYTH: Immigrants are a burden on the NHS
TRUTH: Recent research carried out in the Newry area showed that over 60% of immigrants have never registered with a GP and over 90% are not registered with a dentist
MYTH: Migrant workers take jobs from the local population
TRUTH: The majority of migrant workers are in professional or skilled occupations, where there are skills shortages. For example: the NHS, which would not be able to operate without them. They also create jobs because they need goods and services that others provide.
MYTH: Migrant workers undercut the wages of local workers so we should see them as a threat
TRUTH: Ruthless employers are able to drive down wages if migrant workers and local workers are not organised together to fight to have decent wages for everyone equally
MYTH: Immigrants don’t want to integrate
TRUTH: One of the top priorities for non English speaking immigrants is to learn the language.

Its been a while and we thought it was about time we updated you on what we've
been up to. Our debut EP Little World is now available at our gigs and will
soon be available from our myspace and facebook pages, you will also be able to
download it from itunes, but we don't have a release date for this as yet.
To celebrate the fact that we have now reached 25,000 plays on myspace, we are
giving you a free MP3 of Rockabye Baby. All you have to do is send your email
address to queen.elvis@yahoo.ie and we will send it to you.
We have spent the last year rehearsing with a full band and are now ready to
bring it on the road. You can get a look at us when we appear on Balcony TV
this week with the full line up. We are currently taking bookings for
gigs/concerts/festivals and can be contacted on the email above, or through our
myspace and facebook pages.
Thankyou for your continued support in what has been a great year for us!
Best Wishes
Caroline and Colin

Add your own gig listings, mixes, charts, news etc.
* FORUM *
We've opened the forum again cause a few people have been saying it would add a bit more community to the site, please use it so it doesn't get closed again!
http://www.beathoker.com/index.php?q=forum
* GIG LISTINGS *
We've made a minor change to how gigs are added to the site, the
lineup section is now a single text area instead of individual text
boxes for each act, a small change but it makes adding gigs a lot
quicker cause you can copy and paste the lineup from elsewhere :)
* NEWS SUBMISSIONS *
Don't forget you can now submit all your news stories for inclusion
on the front page of the site, any dance/electronic music related news in Ireland will be considered.
* PODCAST *
Beathoker Podcast 003 is now online, an all Irish producer mix from
System 47
