About me:

LnA was founded in Los Angeles by two California natives, Lauren Alexander and April Leight in 2007. The duo met in the Hollywood social scene where they discovered their mutual love for fashion. Alexander and Leight quickly realized that they were both fans of the simple basic tee but couldn’t find one versatile enough to be worn with jeans during the day or with a skirt at night. After bonding over their fashion backgrounds and the idea that most basic tees weren’t fitted to flatter the body, the LnA concept came about. “We wanted to design the perfect basic, the new staple for every woman’s wardrobe. Our goal was to create the new lifestyle tee shirt that mastered fit, versatility, and color range” said Alexander. Although having become known currently as a popular lifestyle brand, really it was the basic tee that allowed LnA to branch out and include other essentials to the collection, including zipper leggings and the LnA men’s line. Following the initial launch of the “Boyfriend Tee Collection”, LnA was immediately recognized for its colorful, flattering and wearable take on the Men’s under tee for women. Alexander and Leight’s designs are wholly inspired by their own lifestyle, having both shared an affinity for wearing their boyfriend’s tees. “We were both wearing tee shirts when we met and the topic came up,” says Leight. “Literally a week later we were talking about doing a tee shirt line.” LnA’s signature tee shirt range is now available in over thirty styles and more than fifty color ways featuring an eye-catching color palette including hues such as fire, pumpkin, emerald, bone and canary. While the looks are wide-ranging, the most popular tee shirt styles are the Deep V Tee ($59), Zipper Legging ($100) and the new Zipper Tees ($68). In 2008, LnA decided to dabble into 1980’s inspired leggings with a zipper detail, fleece hoodies, cardigans, and super fine cotton henleys. The collection extensions will always embody the standard look of LnA: bright, bold, and offbeat. LnA continues to receive rave reviews, resulting in much-deserved press and a devoted celebrity following. Their soft, comfy basics with an edge are favorites of the stylish Charlize Theron, Heidi Klum, Hilary Duff, Jessica Alba, Lindsay Lohan, Mary Kate and Ashley Olsen and Nicole Richie. Brad Pitt, Jake Gyllenhaal, Gavin Rossdale, Chace Crawford, John Mayer and Enrique Iglesias are also among the diehard fans of the LnA men’s brand. For Spring 2009, LnA has expanded yet again to include items such as blazers, riding pants, scrunched leggings, body suits, zipper and pencil skirts. The zipper fascination from LnA’s classic leggings is seen throughout the Spring 2009 Collection with edgy zipper detailing on the front and back of tanks, tees and blazers. Additionally, new materials such as hemp and latex are introduced this season with LnA’s overall cotton recipe. No longer just a basic tee and leggings manufacturing brand, LnA goes above and beyond its origins, yet remains true to its comfortable and colorful roots.
