Formed almost 10 years ago in Taipei (1998), the experimental electronic group TeresaDonohoe (previous lead signer from KbN) has been subtly exploring electronic music and performing in Taiwan ever since. With their simple, succinct approach to music the band has proven itself to be one of the strongest underground experimental electronic groups in Taiwan, and have blazed a trail in musical style that should prove to remain for years to come.
While the band’s first album/documentary—“Before 2005”—may perhaps most easily be described as downbeat or trip-hop, they’re more recent work builds upon that platform and extends further into the realm of experimental electronic.Her creative diversity has created plentiful opportunities for artistic expression throughout Taiwan’s arts and music scene—everything from shows in prominent venues for independent music and arts to movie soundtracks.
Teresa has shown herself to be a very capable live performance artist, playing for years at music and arts festivals all over the island.
OK, listen up, This is your weekend. I've got an awesome gig for you on Friday and for the very reasonable price of four squids. It's the ever impressive Mr. Elephant at The Hare 'n' Hounds in Kings Heath. There's free CDs and Kazoos and all sorts of cabaret based behaviour as well as the usual excelent line up of bands and DJs (including Marc Reck and Lopan), undoubtedly some drumming shenanigans and probably some drinks offers too.
On Saturday it's the last Dirty Soul System Allnighter at The Church Inn. If you've not been before, this is your last chance. If you have, you know you won't want to miss this. It'll be another blend of beats covering Dubstep, Breakbeat and D&B and all for the very reasonable price of absolutely buck Shee! I'm warning you now, you may find yourself staggering out of the place in a semi-deranged state at 9 O'clock Sunday morning.
