Right, with no advance notice at all, Steve and I have a new live EP available. It's a pre-release of some of the tracks that will be on our live album, coming out towards the middle of next year, and features three bass 'n' voice duo tunes and two solo tunes of Steve's. We weren't planning on making any of these tunes available to the public but had so many requests for it that we decided to make the promo copies available at a discounted price. These went on sale to the street team a few days ago and then to you today and they're almost 1/3 gone...so don't wait around! Track list is -
Happy (7:34)
MMFSOG (4:09)
I'm Lost (5:11)
Rain (9:14)
Jimmy James (6:51)
If you haven't seen us live before....all these tracks are just one bass and vocal...looping and layering to created a lush soundscape and a completely unique and beautiful sound.
Steve says the version of MMFSOG is by far the best take of that tune he's ever recorded, and the version of Jimmy James is an all-fretless one. The tracks were all recorded live at Power Base Studio in Nebraska earlier in the year.

Behind Every Word -Steve Lawson's latest CD (£10.00 + P&P)
In these days of musicians counting myspace plays and friend requests as a way of measuring popularity, it's easy to forget that not too long ago the much lamented MP3.com was making stars of its own (and paying them, no less!) with independent artists racking up ten of thousands of plays. And some whose play count went from tens to hundreds of thousands, and then to millions. Enter singer/songwriter and multi instrumentalist Lobelia, whose profile on that original indie music portal lead her to places most independent musicians only dream of - lucrative sponsorship deals, a publishing contract and a feature in Billboard magazine. After stepping back from the live scene for a couple of years, 2007 has seen Lobelia log thousands of train and road miles (eschewing planes where possible in these enlightened days of climate change) touring across Europe and the US, playing to rapt audiences at festivals, clubs and house concerts and winning fans wherever she goes with a mixture of humour, humility and transcendent melodies.
Playing in a duo with acclaimed British bassist Steve Lawson, Lobelia's sound blends hook-laden adult pop with a more spacial ambient sensibility reminiscent of David Sylvian, Talk Talk and The Blue Nile. Singing songs of love and loss, her star is once again on the ascendancy, with the coming year promising at least two new albums and more touring in Europe, the US and further afield.Whooopppppteeedoooooooo! Lobelia is probably somewhere in the world right now eating a bannana and thinking of you.....or object oriented design. :-P

I'm COMPLETELY cool with lively discussion, that's why I wrote it. But if I was misunderstood from the beginning, the idea of discussion is a bit skewed. I just wanted it made plain and certain that I never intended to say that men were in any way blameless. I don't mind when people disagree with me,..as long as they are correct in what I had to say to begin with. I was just a bit taken aback by it, I guess. Not the first or last time I have/will be misunderstood, I guess. I will survive. ha,ha
Very nice. Exactly what I wanted from the article, not simple agreement. The one slight misunderstanding is that I didn't ask for men to be considered blameless. It was just the jumping off point-this myth that men have "engineered" this double standard somehow. Guys ARE very visual, that's how we are wired. And we can be VERY shallow and at times cruel. I was just saying that it's not some conspiracy,..that it's a bit more all encompassing than that. Just needed to lay it out on the table. But THANK YOU for taking time to properly respond, my dear. That meant a lot. Muah!
Great news. Great freakin' news! Wow,..he's been so touch and go over the last few. Always amazing, the power of the human body to recover. I'll pass the word, no doubt! Thanks for getting back to me,..and I wish you the best, darlin'.
Uh,..that's OK. Don't just leave me hangin' though,...tell me the parts of which you disagree. How am I to LEARN otherwise? Thanks for readin' it, I appreciate that.
What up, Lo? Hey they published that essay of mine. It's called "The Ultimate Conspiracy," it's at www.advice.lovedetour.com If you can, go check it out when you have time, OK? Thanks.
An actor that used to be a musician that thinks he is a writer. Confusing, yet ineffectual. ; )
You insulted my hotties, man and that just sent me into a rage. I figured that you were worried about some sort of a vegan revolt if they thought that you ever were a Republican. ha,ha
Scoff, but Bees on crack are surprisingly productive, and their honey quite tasty, yet not surprisingly addictive.
I'd watch dropping your friends for such, though as Karma is a bitch. I didn't turn my back on you when you were President of the Young Republicans for Baby Seal Harvesting and Medical Research, did I?
