Back in 2003, we got the idea for Local Celebrity while we were at a music festival in rural Illinois – Cornerstone. We were rocking out in the middle of a corn field when inspiration struck us like heavy metal thunder, “Let’s ditch our jobs and start a t-shirt company!” So, pretty much just like that we packed our bags and headed out west to shack it up at our grandmother ranch in San Diego. After a long road trip, a few brain-storming sessions, and a couple dozen high fives, we came up with the first set of designs – and that’s what started it all. We maxed out our credit cards, bought a screen-printing machine, and started schlepping out goodness to party people all over the world. It wasn’t long before Grandma’s horse stables couldn’t handle the abundance of freshness that we were churning out, so we packed up again and moved our operation to a fun little warehouse in a glamorous part of downtown LA known as Skid Row. We’ve been laying our mac down here ever since. All the products that we sell are developed (fabric and fit) by us and are produced exclusively for Local Celebrity, so you will be looking correct! We take great pride in keeping our products fresher than the produce section during the rainy season. You’ll understand what we’re talking about once you wear one of our shirts, if you haven’t already. You’ll be getting snapped all over town (Oh snap! Where’d you get that shirt!?), fo’rilla!
