Born in Federal Way, Kyle was known for his refined manners, tasteful choices in seasonal apparel, and being gay. Actually, most of Federal Way didn’t know this. Being from the “Hood of Seattle Suburbia,” Kyle possessed an apathetic personality to allow him to survive through his childhood of denim and gang colors with the hope of someday being able to walk through his neighborhood with argyle socks, Kenneth Cole shoes, and a hairstyle and a walk only a homosexual man could love. However, Kyle did not want to die, thus his childhood consisted of bitches, hoes, and getting “jiggy” with it. In addition to “popping” things and people.
Fortunately, he was one of the lucky ones. He survived. That he did.
While his current residence is San Diego his heart is in Seattle. He lives in Southern California where terrible coffee resides to awaken the plastic zombies that evade the beaches. He works at the Westin Hotel. His current position is…making the hotel better. Once this is accomplished, or once a better position comes along in Seattle, he will be back. In Seattle. Where the gay men live. Where no straight men live. The city where Kyle’s friend, Amanda, is jaded by the absence of un-bitter, straight men. The city where single, straight girls go to die, but only, of course, in the most caffeinated, and stylish of ways.
Seattle. A good place to be gay. You should go there. Because, why not? Everyone gay is doing it. Just keep it going. That’s fine. Amanda is eventually moving away anyway. At least she knows the coffee and the W will survive in her absence.
