ABOUT LOCALS ONLY RADIO
Locals Only Radio (LOR) is a program that originated on George Mason University’s WGMU campus radio station before growing into a leading entity in the local music scene.
The Washington, DC local music scene, made complete by bands, music companies, venues and the all-important fans has been abuzz with the news of a possible Locals Only Radio FM station in 2009. This lethal combination for the local scene will allow for a nationwide reach as FM radio listeners tune in alongside the tens of thousands of supporters currently listening to Locals Only Radio.
Locals Only Radio (owners/creators) Wes Lee and Derek "Big Sexy D-Rock" have stimulated the local music scene in the greater Washington DC/Baltimore area with live shows, events and productions for over five years--and they don't plan on stopping any time soon! Locals Only Radio events range from the regular Locals Only Live shows that draw hundreds to area venues to Throwdown, a four-day music event that drew thousands in 2006 and 2007.
