50's and 60's rock and roll, Elvis, The Beatles, Motown artists, 70's hard rock and punk (zepplin, queen, sex pistols, etc..) 80's pop, and 80's metal (metalica, guns and roses, ac/dc, van halen, erasure, pet shop boys, etc...) 90's grunge and art metal (faith no more, nirvana, sound garden, tool, pantera, etc...) 2000 - some emo, punk, pop, hip hop, etc... I've also always liked old school jazz from the 20's - 40's. I've always liked showtunes and chorus ensembles. Also weird stuff like Mr Bungle, Joe Satriani, Love songs, Disney songs, songs I love but are embarrased to admit, etc..

FEEL FREE TO RATE AND COMMENT MY MUSIC!! GOOD OR BAD, I WANT TO KNOW!! I'm Dave Cooke. I'm 31. I played live in different bands from age 17 - 25. I've written scores, underscore, musical ensemble, musical themes, sfx and voice over for The Off Broadway Theatre musicals now professionaly for the past 6 years. 28 musical plays. I have recording studio in my basement and at the theatre so I'll also record, mix, edit and produce music. I also love to write and record my own music. I play guitar, piano, drums, precussion, bass, saxophone and sing. Andy Engberson is also behind all that I've done musicaly and I thank him! He believed in me the most and helped me with everything from studio gear and tech knowledge, to providing support and facilitating my passion for music. He was also my best man at my wedding in 2006. Occasionally (when I'm lucky) I jam with a bagpipe player named Michael Gibbs and we've recorded old scottish songs and revamp'd em into kind of a rock/punk thing. My other styles are anything from orchestral, jazz, swing, rock, metal, pop, punk, folk, blues, and classic good old fashion "everyone solos" with my wife, (who is learning the bass), my kids and neices and nephews. I'd like to mention my old bands "Planet Oya" and "Vaudeville" (from 1993 - 2001) (Dewey, Jay, Darren, Eric, Jeff and Matt). Also I'd like to thank Dave Bowen for his help furthering my jazz guitar. and countless other musicians whom I've learned from. I had good times with them all!! I still love you guys! I'd also like to thank Eric Jensen for pushing me so hard to produce as close to perfection as possible. (he's not easily impressed and he demands the best in me.) Well thats about it! Where traditions are not so rare; Sea, country and works scent the air; A multitude of monuments, Planted tubs and patterned pavements.
The longish pedestrian malls; The remnants of defensive walls; Historic buildings are a gauge Of the respect for heritage.
Wheat, rape and pines in the fields; Estuaries guarded by shields; Long sandy beaches and wide scenes; Romantic-ruin go-betweens.
Rivers in parts licked by trees, Or fringed by boat clubs, wharfs, gantries, And crossed by practical delights - Varied spans, forming pleasing sights.
Fine churches headed at Durham; Football kits ad infinitum; Kept castles - one for study; Masonry behind masonry.
And, with moulding-works out that way, It’s somewhere for a longer stay..?

Once drove an old sedan, up north, From a place in Sydney to Cairns; Then to Kuranda I went forth, By train, to look without set plans.
I browsed through the trendy market, With fresh fruits of tropical kind; Walked to the creek through lush thicket - Nature’s hand giving peace of mind.
I dined in a scenic cafe; Then, outside, as I wrote for yen, Some passing Kooris called-out: “Hey, You go walkabout with your pen.”
Request or question, I don’t know - Assured voices, elderly men. That’s now several years ago, And I’ve seen the world - with my pen.
