The Band Lockren The Band LOCKREN was started during the Spring of 2005 based on the goals and dreams of a very talented young singer named Amanda Loughren. The Dream was to make a living in the extremely challenging industry of country music. The goal was to bring together some other very talented local musicians and create a band that would make the fans the 1 priority. The band would keep the fans entertained and dancing through the whole night, including during breaks. They would keep the set lists fresh by adding new songs based on the top 40 charts and fan requests. Most importantly, the band would interact with the crowd by giving out free pictures and autographs, remembering faces and names, performing at charitable events, and building the LOCKREN "family". Since our beginning in 2005 we have been fortunate to play in numerous Town Celebrations, Casinos, and many County Fairs. We have been very fortunate to be the opening act for several great Nashville Recording Artists such as Craig Morgan, Gary Allen, Jason Michael Carroll, Randy Houser, Rodney Atkins and Tracy Byrd. The band made a resolution to go into 2010 with an exciting, expanded set list and more energy than ever. We didn't want turning 5 years old to slow us down. We were determined to go into the year bigger and better than ever. Towards that end, we added some new members, added new songs, and created a new logo design. You will hear top 40 hits by artists such as Taylor Swift, Lady Anabelum, Carrie Underwood, Miranda Lambert, Shania Twain, Sugarland, Ashton Sheppard, Jack Ingram, Jake Owen, Jason Aldean, Brooks & Dunn, Dierks Bentley, and Johnny Cash just to name a few. But we do not stop there. We have something for just about everyone with classic rock favorites from artists like AC/DC, Joan Jett, Led Zeppelin, Pat Benatar, and Kiss among others. The members of LOCKREN have backgrounds that are as interesting and diverse as the band's song list. On Bass we have singer, songwriter, Brian Sanny. Brian is a veteran of over 15 years experience including playing in a family formed, original band around his hometown of Omaha in which Brian wrote most of the songs. Now Brian lives and works in Eastern Iowa and calls Coralville home. On Lead Guitar and vocals we have Eduardo Azevedo. Eduardo was born in Brazil and started playing guitar when he was 13. Eduardo started playing professionally in Brazil in 1998 and played in several bands there and recorded 2 albums as the lead guitar player. He moved to Iowa in 2006 to pursue his PhD in Pharmaceuticals at the University of Iowa and calls Iowa City home. On Drums we have Jared Hill. Jared started playing drums in his pre-teen years and later joined his high school drum line and played in numerous competitions as well as jazz band. While in high school Jared also played in various other bands, dabbling in everything from Jazz to Latin to Funk. This talented young man makes his home in Garrison. On Guitar, Keys, Steel Guitar, and vocals we have Travis McBride from Independence,IA. Travis has been playing music nearly his whole life and although he started out professionally by playing drums with the band "Rio Grand" his love for music has driven him to learn and excel in several other instruments as well with Steel Guitar being the most recent addition. When "Rio Grand" ended, Travis became a founding member of "The Rock Hounds" which later became "Stampede". Travis is currently a student at UNI majoring in communications Electronic Media.Our final member is Amanda Loughren on lead vocals. Amanda started singing at 13 years old when she entered her school variety show and she has been singing ever since. Amanda has earned the respect of her peers with her vocal ability and her high-energy performances. Amanda has started her own karaoke business to share her love of singing with others and calls Cedar Rapids home. The year 2010 doesn't just mark the five-year anniversary of the band. On February 13th, 2010 the band will also celebrate their 200th performance and we are proud to say that the LOCKREN "family" is going strong and getting bigger all the time as we continue to add new towns and venues to our schedule. We are all very excited about our future and Amanda's vocals, combined with the harmonies and high-energy show, make this band something special and an experience you will not soon forget.
