We’re Locksley. We listen to just about any music we can. Our first album, Don’t Make Me Wait, has been compared to the music from the 60’s quite a bit, especially the Beatles, a generous compliment by any measure and not inaccurate in our initial aims. The sixties are definitely a jumping off point for us. Everyone needs a jumping off point and that’s ours, because we like good songs, songs that you can just sing while you’re walking around or showering or driving. Songs that you can sing along with, I guess is the point. But we also like music that’s a little bit fast and/or exciting which is why we love the Ramones and the Stooges and Richard Hell and The Strokes and The Rapture and Dr. Dre and Wham and Miss Independent by Kelly Clarkson. So, there it is.
Oh, we haven’t properly introduced ourselves. Locksley is: Jesse and Jordan Laz, Kai Kennedy and Sam Bair. We were all friends in Madison, Wisconsin growing up and moved to New York because, you know, if you can make it there…
In just over a year since self-releasing our first album we’ve toured the UK, Japan and the US with some great bands, including The Hives, the Rapture, Hanson and Rooney, to name a few. We’ve sold over 50,000 albums worldwide, performed on Jimmy Kimmel and Conan O’Brien in the States and had our songs featured in movies, television and advertisements. Everything we’ve accomplished so far has been as an unsigned artist. We’re unsigned partially by choice, partially by circumstance. But luckily the 21st century has made it easier for an unsigned band to find success. That’s where you lot come in.
Our first album, Don’t Make Me Wait, is out September 9th and we’re currently working on our second offering in between tours. Won’t you listen to the music? And if you like it then spread the word! Come out to the shows! We’ll see you there!

I just downloaded three Locksley songs in Rock Band. I am so unbelievably excited right now. Here's hoping you guys finally start getting the attention you deserve.

Minneapolis!! That's so exciting :) I work that day, but I'll see if someone will switch shifts with me. ps- varsity theater is by far the best venue I've been to. It's lovely!
