Loco Zydeco is a 6 person, high energy, Canadian Zydeco band, based in Toronto, Ontario.
Blending Traditional and Modern Zydeco, LZ has created their own unique take on Louisiana's most exciting musical export, debuting at the Toronto International BBQ & Blues Festival, July 12th, 2002. LZ independently released their first album, "Yeah, you right, eh!" in the fall of 2003, enjoying commercial, community and college radio play across North America. In 2005, LZ signed with flamingcheese records, and their second album, "This Great White North, Eh!" was released in the fall of 2006.
Since their debut, LZ has wowed crowds at festivals across Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick including -
Wakefield's Cajun Festival, Edmundston's Festival Jazz & Blues,
Kitchener's Blues, Brews & BBQ's, The Sault Jazz & Blues Festival International,
Belleville's End Of Winter Blues Fest, the Downtown Oakville Jazz Festival,
Niagara Fall's Blues In The Park, Port Burwell's Coal Flat Blues Fest, The Burlington RibFest,
the Oshawa Jazz & Blues Fest, the Port Credit SouthSide Shuffle Jazz + Blues Festival,
the Orillia Spring Blues Festival, Toronto's Jazz Fest, Winterfest, Celebrate Toronto, The Leslieville Catfish Fest,
Lakeshore Mardi Gras and The Distillery District Jazz Festival, the Mississauga Waterfront Festival, the Aurora Concert in the
Park series and Brampton's Savannah Festival Of Rhythms.
LZ also perform at private, corporate, specialty and sporting events, clubs, bars and
Mardi Gras-themed events throughout Ontario. Their set list includes original Zydeco, covers of well known traditional and contemporary Zydeco and their own Zydeco interpretations of popular mainstream songs.
