Promo animation for Lodekka's GET ON. This track is taken from the album LONG PLAYER released July 18th 2011 by Freshly Squeezed.

This video forms part of the visuals of the Lodekka Hi-Fi Soundsystem which is the live band incarnation of Lodekka (playing at Big Chill amoungst others) and was created by resident VJ and animator Ross McLeish.

Special thanks to Alex McGowan and The Future Shape Of Sound crew for the use of their studio in this recording and for their brilliant input.

Lodekka soundtracks documentary....

Lodekka, who does indeed drive a VW camper himself, provided the soundtrack for a short documentary promoting a new book, called, My Cool Campervan... The music all comes from the new Lodekka album LONG PLAYER - and although we're biased, we think the summertime vibe of Lodekka's dub fits brilliantly with the breezy coolness of the classic vee dub. Or something!

    Lodekka began life as the side-project of multi-instrumental musician and graphic designer Stuart Dace. In a gloriously chequered career, Stuart was sax player on the classic Primal Scream album Screamadelica, was a member of Mo Wax band Deep Joy and has worked as Head Of Design at Chrysalis Records! His sound can be described as quirky, stone-head dub performed on un-usual instrument combinations with fusions of jazz, reggae and funk. Instrumentation includes ukulele, melodica, theremin, double bass, trumpet, clarinet and saxophone with a generous helping of ambient electronica. Despite impressive jazz credentials there are no overly-fancy solos here, just bucket loads of atmosphere and a laid-back quality that is hard to define but quite magical. Live, Lodekka transforms into the Lodekka Hi-Fi Soundsystem whose funky dubby mash ups have graced the Big Chill festival alongside Coldcut and DJ Food. It will come as no surprise to learn that Lodekka have also featured in several soundtracks including MTV's own series The Paper…
