Influences
Life, sound, nature, people and places. The things illuminated by light as the shadows receed and dance creating their own life. Patterns in the darkness against the broken spectrum of refracting sunlight.
Sounds Like
Richard Pitt @ BBC Introducing:
"This is just the kind of thing to remind me of my holiday as we head to the dark days of winter!"
Simon Evans @ BBC Radio Kent:
"A very unexpected and original sound - well worth checking out"
Jeanette Howlett @ Radio Starlion:
"folky/indie, playing light heartedly conscience nudging songs of nature and humanity. I've not heard anyone else who sounds quite like them. Their music always makes me smile."
BBC Radio Bristol:
"A lovely little band"
Manny from 'The Stone Roses':
"These are alright... I'm going for a curry!"
Extracts from a review by: Random Donkey Promotions:
"Glockenspiel solos, insane percussion lines, accordion based songs, meditation chimes and the interesting addition of a spinning pink tube. Expect nothing less than an awe-inspiring performance"
Extracts from a review by: Die, Shellsuit Die!:
"Rough and raw traditional folk, all gruff voices, whiskey, preachers and loneliness in the dark
Frantic, mysterious, sort of exotic and edgy enough to be more than background music for BBQs and montages of summer festivals"
Lo-Fi Lung was formed in August 2007 by two Midlands musicians: Chris The Activist and Dew. Together they have developed each others material as well as writing their own original tracks, creating their own eclectic mix of electro/acoustica.
In 2008 they were joined by Eve and Loz to expand their live sound. The diverse nature of their influences and broad musical experience has culminated into what has been described as “a broadly ambient acoustic driven sound.” Their lyrics are founded on social/cultural themes, influenced by natural and environmental ideals.
They have already played at many varied venues around the country whilst developing their style to fit different moods and atmospheres. To date they have recorded three EP's and are currently in the final stages of the fourth.
In 2009 Lo-Fi Lung intend to maintain the momentum of their live success and continue recording and developing their sound. They aim to play at gigs and festivals around the country, and welcome invitations to 'come and play'
If you are organising an event, festival or gig please contact them.

Hi! Thanks for the message! Glad you like the stuff! Really like your sound too, especially the Island Song one. It reminds me a bit of Gomez (I hope you take that as a compliment as I love Gomez!)

Hi guys - thanks for the friend request - you're very welcome. Lovely songs and sound on your spaceplayer. Having listened to them I'd LOVE to drop in to Mothers' Ruin (it used to be called Old Nick's when we ran a showcase there) to catch you live - but I live just south of Göteborg in Sweden now! Maybe we'll hook up when I'm on a gigging trip back - or if you come to westcoast Sweden of course :) cheers and best wishes James
Hey all! We'd love to come to the gig on the 6th, but it doesn't look like we'd be able to, we'll be at Off The Tracks! I hope it all goes well, Ed TWH
