Nigel “Lo Keynote” Berringer’s 8 years in the crates have given him a broad understanding of the industry, and all ends of hip hop production. Having also worked as an engineer has given him the added ability to see songs thru from start to finish. He records artists, edits, and mixes songs daily.
Lo is also the west coast representative for The Maple Mothership, who helps supply hip hop content to college radio throughout the country.
In 2009, Lo won the first ever Vancouver Vanquish Beat Battle against a series of tough competitors. He then returned for the second Vanquish, and successfully defended the title. 2009 also marked the release of Snak The Ripper’s “Sex Machine”, and Camobear Records label mate Young Sin’s “Who I Am”. As well, a promotional EP for artist Jeff Spec entitled “freE Press”.
2007 saw the release of Lo Keynote’s “High Hats”, an instrumental album which charted as high as 5th on the college radio charts. As a student of music, eager to advance his techniques, Lo obtained a diploma in audio engineering at Pacific Audio Visual Institute. Unknown to some, Nigel is an accomplished artist, with a background deep rooted in graffiti culture. He still creates works with paint so often, but the music has Definitely taken over.
For 2010 Lo Keynote plans to release a compilation album of tracks he has produced for a large lineup of talented artists, pre releases and exclusives. I know what your thinking,, And I kind of hate when people post videos on my page to, but this is the way the common artist has to promote on the net in ordered to be heard, plus alot of the time you find undiscovered talent.
