About me: PLEASE NOTE: Lola is currently putting shows on hold for now, due to increasing financial constraints in the recent climate. We are currently not able to take any financial risks lola wise or personal wise so we are playing it safe until we can rise again bigger and better! We are choosing to put our energy into other projects such as zine tours, distro stuffs (including a whole loads of new things to sell online), workshops and small events: we'll keep you posted, thanks for your support.
We are Lola and the Cartwheels!
Lola is for anyone who wants to get together with a group of like-minded ego-free people to party, watch new and exciting bands as well as travelling touring bands, dance without judgement to queer/feminist DIY hits and to celebrate and showcase our communities DIY arts and culture.
We operate completely on a not for profit basis, basically aiming to cover the costs of the artists, any money we make goes to the bands!
We also run a distro at all our events and through our website (which is as of 09/10/09 under construction but should be updated by the end of the weekend!)get in touch if you wanna add your zine!

Apologies for being spammy, but just to let you know that myself and
the Pope proudly announce the release of my second album, Murder Music (featuring David Hoyle and Pianofingers),
out now on Cherryade Records.
"Prepare
yourself to be modestly outraged - McCabe is kicking against the
pricks, and declaring homosexual cliche's bankrupt" - Artrocker
"If you like punk, you'll love this. If you're queer and like punk,
you'll spunk your pants. Ste McCabe is authentic and brilliant." - Boy
George
DECAPANTE play hella loud noise rock and hail from Madrid,
SPAIN. Their tunes are ultra sludgy, super slow and riddled with demonic slabs
of riff madness! They create this almighty racket harnessing the power of two
bass’s and a big old drum sound. Sorta remind me of the early Ruins/Melvins/Big
Business with hints of Shellac for good measure.
COWTOWN are three handsome young chipmunks with a taste for
party tunes and library jumpers. Recently described as Rod, Jane and Freddy
mixed with Melt Banana. New album ‘Excellent Domestic Short hair’ out soon.
I made a runner from work tonight after my friend text me and told me sister spit were in town and i recognised Emma, but i wasn't 100% and therefore didnt say hello. how pathetic! hope everything goes well with the tour. it was bloody amazing. xx
Its been selling faster than we expected, and we currently only have around a quarter of our stock left - so we thought we'd better you all know that if you want a copy then now would be a good time to pick one up! If you buy it from the link above then you're buying it direct from us, the label aren't taking a cut - so its a bit like Fair Trade for struggling musicians.
International mail-order is available, just follow the instructions.
Thank you very much, and sorry for making a mess of your profile. If its any kind of consolation, we don't have a MySpace bot, so I'm leaving these comments the old fashioned way. Three -and-a-half thousand of them. My life is so exciting.
