Born and raised by hippie parents in Paris , reared on a diverse musical tapestry (tenacious hip-hop, hardscrabble Delta blues, peace-loving ‘60s rock and soul) and counting Prince, Aretha Franklin, Joni Mitchell, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and Michel Jackson among her mentors,
Lola felt the fever from the age of two. “One of my first memories was hearing Off the Wall for the first time,” she says. “I remember almost going into convulsions – it was my first musical slap in the face.”
After signing with major labels in the US and releasing 2 singles, “No Strings” and “I Can’t take it”, backed by Midas-touch knob turners like House of Tre, (Alicia Keys), Toby Gad (Fergie), and Fanatik (Beyonce, Michael Jackson, Will Smith, Notorious B.I.G.), Lola has been working on a completely different musical project, more suited to her tastes and personality.
“I learned a lot from my US music experience, but I didn’t truly recognized myself musically. I have gained maturity and feel confident enough to express who I really am”.
Française ayant débuté sa carrière musicale aux Etats-Unis sous l’égide de MBK (Alicia Keys) puis SObe, Lola compte de nombreuses collaborations avec de grands noms de l’industrie musicale : House of Tre (Alicia Keys), Toby Gad (Fergie) et Fanatik (Beyonce, Michael Jackson, Will Smith, Notorious B.I.G.).
Artiste autodidacte influencée par divers courants musicaux, du blues au hip-hop en passant par le rock et la soul (Prince, Aretha Franklin, Janis Joplin, Joni Mitchell, Red Hot Chili Peppers et Michael Jackson font partie de ses mentors), Lola, de retour en France, travaille sur un nouveau projet musical plus adapté à sa personnalité et ses goûts musicaux actuels.
Depuis peu sur myspace, je suis heureux de vous avoir cherchée et trouvée.
C'est un plaisir de pouvoir partager avec vous votre univers que connaissait déjà un peu.
Je me souviens avoir entendu sur une radio de l'est de la France la diffusion de ''No Strings'' à ces débuts et combien j'ai adoré et adore encore ce titre puisque votre album à toujours accompagné les instants de ma vie depuis sa sortie, il me donne la pêche quand ça ne va pas.
Magnifique, jaime beaucoup la nouvelle page, vraiment un beau aprcoure que tu as eu! Felicitation encore pour avoir trouver ta voix a la radio, forcer au Quebec, je suis sur quon achetera! :) Vraiment une des rare voix feminine a me donner la chair de poules, j'adore! ...a quand un album disponible!
