Blinking really fast in a low lit room, Staring at the lights, pools of water, making out with your girl for the first time, fast cars driven real slow, peaches, stripes, looking under your bed, old pictures, letters on paper, getting dizzy, laughing, the moon in a clear sky, headlights approching, bikinis and tans, the best bar b q parties, all your friends all at the same time,
long drives through the night, letting it out, going off, flowers behind your back, perfect hair, going sideways, skipping, huge green grass, views of mountains from the top of a mountain, seeing bands, rad giggling girls, skateboarding to work, scooters, drug kits, van halen, sisters, the Lo lounge, fuzzy white fabric, computer screens lighting a dark room, Sunday night Sopprano's and dinner, getting backstage, sneekin in to shows, free beer everywhere, the big black van of death, mike, snowboarding, going out, chocolate mushrooms, parties, after hours at your favorite bar...
Lola was a beautiful 1/2 boxer 1/2 pit bull that was found somewhere in Salt Lake City. She was rescued from and animal shelter by Garry Ventura's supercool girlfriend Wendy J. and brought to their warm home. She was beautiful with brite green eyes and an even temper that made her and old soul in a 2 year old puppy. She was queen of the dog park and a golden friend at home who never chewed a shoe....well maybe one.
Not long after she came to live with them Lola became very ill and, after spending many an evening watching her and many trips to the vet, there was nothing more that could be done and she left us. it was a surprisingly hard time. Coming out of that experience was to begin with music and songs played with energy and abandon....
A few months later in the parking lot of Liquide Joes on a warm summer eve, GV was approached by Scott, played a couple of songs for him and said he knew an awsome bassist that was into the music as well. Soon after, the three met in GV's moms basement on Browning Ave and within one week, wrote and recorded the songs that would become their first release.
"One week after" was a mission statement made in the form of the song titles and the music caried with it the feeleing in the lyrics. "On our way", "Nothing will stop", "Sedat me" and "'Till we meet again", got them a few gigs so they had to come up with a name and Lola was born. again....
