There is a cutthroat competition in the global market for worldmusic cd-compilations. The music industry in general is complaining about massive losses. The shelves of the cd-stores are too crowded and to place a new product-line is anything but simple. In this situation you can moan and complain, or you look forward and offer something completely new to the customer. This is exactly what we want to do with our young worldmusic label "Lola´s World". Our aim is it to cultivate a pretty unploughed field in the area of worldmusic.
The style that we present in form of compilations is called "Global Beats", which stands for modern worldmusic in combination with contemporary grooves.
On the compilations of "Lola´s World" only high quality songmaterial is used. If an artist, no matter for what reason, does not want to join his/her most attractive song, then we do not prefer the second best. Also we do not feel the pressure of time; because it must be warranted that the quality of the whole songmaterial of the compilation is stainless.
In the near future we want to inspire all global beats-enthusiasts worldwide. Our selected djs - who use these tunes daily in clubs, or in radio programmes and precisely know what their cultural open-minded audience in the major cities in this world celebrates to - compile young, attractive, popular tunes of the genre "Global Beats". Through steady and immediate feedbacks gained in the clubs, they are able to indicate which music is on the way to glow. First of all these djs are curious, they look around at what is happening in the different centers of this world and always keep an ear open.
To supply the so called masses with formated music does not interest us, we leave that to the major labels. We prefer addressing to the music lovers with open ears and those who are hungry for new sounds. Everywhere on earth exciting music is produced; for example, "Kwaito" in Southafrica, "Baile Funk" in Brasil, "Afrotronique" in Mali or "Reggaeton" in Puerto Rico. Our aim is to make global beats popular worldwide. There is no such music style that can be stamped as boring or uncool by definition, but there are only songs belonging to that music style that are sensationally good or bad. This stands for any musical form of expression. The rest is a matter of habit and current trends. It's important for us not to perceive the music just as a product, but as a precious object of cultural values. That is why on our compilations only music that stilll exist in years can be heard.
