zpink is an elderly(approximately 400 years old) Swedish gentleman,
currently residing in northen Wales.
He grew up on metal and Sisters and likes to make a lot of noise.
The story so far:
Born in Stockholm, or Birka as some people still knew it as,
he from an early age developed an interest in music.
The main inspiration being an overseas gentleman named
Vincent Furnier and a quartet of men in strange clothes
and makeup hailing from the same shores.
Granted his highest wish, on his 12th birthday he became
the proud owner of a 6-stringed candy-red double-cut-away lute
of the same model as the influential Tony from Birmingham.
Joining forces with his next-door neighbour and friend,
who owned a 4-stringed lute, he set up his first show.
Neither of the two young lads had any talent nor clue about
how to play their instruments.
The show was saved (or so they thought) by the fact that
the friend could mimic the 4-string lute player amongst
the aforementioned quartet's facial expressions.
Before reaching his teens he was migrated north,
due to family decision.
In the new school he soon became part of a short-lived band.
Swapping his 6-string to a 4-string he got involved in
learning a few songs by Nazareth and other contemporary heroes.
Still lacking talent, he soon realised that a life of partying
and passively enjoying music was so much easier.
Seasons passed, empires rose and fell and the 4 strings once again became 6.
Life continued and the lute was left in peace.
A number of years after migrating to a small island of the coast of Europe,
he decided to start making some new noise.
The lutes, both 4 and 6 stringed ones, are now run through some more sophisticated machinery
and there is also an organ present. zpink still lacks talent.
The strange noises which often sounds like if from a distant past,
are now created in the vaults of London Below.
Hey z!!!!!!!!! Sorry I haven't gotten back to you yet. I have been working everyday on night shift and now they slam a few dayshifts my way so I have been exhausted lol. I am off monday and tuesday so I will totally check out the song and get started. Oh I so cannot wait for monday and tuesday and to get started on the song lol. So how is your weekend so far? Have a great week!
You're right it's an awful album though in some ways better than the follow up'raise your fist and yell' for my money I kinda like Crawlin' as well as the two aforementioned songs. Sadly I have little of Vincent's work on Vinyl Constrictor,Raise your fist and Hey Stoopid being the only 3 every thing else is CD which I'm happy with (I'm no vinyl snob!!) However the vintl lends itself better than CD for these videos as it's so oversized,Better examples of all the artists works ('cept George Formby) exist in my CD collection. Maybe should have dragged out the 'Life and Crimes of Alice Cooper' box set instead as it's a decent overview.
I think 'Livin' on a Prayer' and 'Here I go again' will be my next Uke rock tracks!! afterall I must fill my player with 10 songs regardless of the quality!!! Might branch out an add a Kazoo...I am in preliminary discussions with a guitarist for a collaboration,I also had an idea that the profile could continually change over time...soft rock project...disco project...punk rock project..different songs for different genres.. This despite the fact I still have rumoured the profile's demise post Xmas!! I shall sit it out for now though...see how things pan out
Welcome aboard the 'house of fun'...don't expect a tour or CD anytime soon!!! For that matter don't expect this profile to last beyond Christmas!!! Nice to have you along for the ride for now though.
Hey zpink :) Thanks dude for the comment. Yeah I have been busy trying to get some new songs finished and learn some covers so I can have more songs to play live. Still working on getting gigs though. The battle of the bands was fun! Trying to put together a few shows with some local bands. I noticed there are some new songs from you I have never heard before. Halloween is scary but so awesome! It totally fits the spirit of halloween and halloween is just around the corner. Time To Go To War rocks! I like the different vibe it has than the others...it has sort of a major but yet at times minor feel. Species is hilarious, I love that belching sound. So what is going on your way? You been doing the video stuff yet? Have a great week my friend.
meant to say after you mentioning cyberpunk i found a book on the shelf i forgot i had bought Vurt by Jeff Noon. rather good so far..kind of like existenz crossed with some phillip k dick
Uses to have Dada and enjoyed but it went when I went through a stage of getting rid of all the vinyl, Flush the Fashion I had on cassette, got rid of all them too though unlike the vinyl I still own few cassettes and never play them. Only have songs from that era on a Box set now, Did see Alice with the Darkness supporting a few years back it was a double win for me as Eric Singer of KISS was drumming!! I note he is touring again but mon
Ahh good to see old Vincent Furnier mentioned in your write up (I must have missed this before) those first 6 albums are amazing...I must confess a liking to some of the later ones too. Though the eighties was more my era the seventies are far more present in my record collection Prog, Punk and Glam for those genres alone it deserves a re evaluation Anyhow keep up the fine work Cheers Andrew
