Finally London has its very own afrobeat band! Even though Fela Kuti himself spent time here, his sound always seemed to struggle in this part of the world, where the cultural horizon is still dominated by American commercial monotony and an endless excretion of faux "indie". But things could be about to change...
Formed in 2008, the line up shifted for a while until reaching the potent blend of melodic talent, raw heavy groove and real chilled attitude of today. Just enough Northerners to stay real, and just enough foreigners to seriously kick ass. The London Afrobeat Collective is ready to take on the world.
Recent gigs have gone well enough for the band to take it to the studio in May. The two tracks you're hearing are fresh out of the steaming heads of Jon and Ollie. We are currently working on a few more, hoping to have an album soon which you will buy and love and buy again for your friends... Take it away!

but seriously, no plans at the moment, the new record will go out in Europe though, and hopefully we can garner enough support to put somethign together in the next year or two
