The London Improvisers Orchestra were born from the embers of Butch Morris' London Skyscraper tour for the Contempory Music network tour in November 1997. Concerts were performed in London, Birmingham, Oxford, Manchester, Bristol and Liverpool. Members of the ensemble decided to carry the project on and thus was born The London Improvisers Orchestra-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------For ten months of the year, the orchestra meets up on the first sunday of the month (excluding December and January). at the Cafe Oto in Dalston, Meeting early on the Sunday so,anybody who has an idea about how to control a group of individuals who take pleasure in not being controlled, can rehearse what they would like to do. These pieces mixed in with freely improvised sections makes up the performance at 8.30.
