A.P.E. WAS FORMED IN LATE DECEMBER 2007 IN A DIRTY JAM ROOM ON THE THIRD FLOOR OF THE WICK (RIP). GUNTHER DEVILS (BASS) AND ALEX EFF (GUITAR) ADDED JOHNBOY (DRUMS) AND STARTED RIGHT SONGS. EARLY JANUARY WE DECIDED SOME VOCALS MIGHT BE NICE IN THE SONGS. IAN MISCREANT (VOCALS) WAS ASKED TO COME OUT AND CHECK OUT THE SONGS. THE BAND BEING COMPLETE WE STARTED FORWARD WITH 7 DAY A WEEK PRACTICES.
AS THE END OF JANUARY ROLLED IN WE STARTED PLAYING OPEN STAGES AND OPEN MICS AROUND LONDON. NOW WE JUMP TO FEBUARY 29 2008 FOR OUR FIRST SHOW. HERE IS WHERE WE WOULD LIKE TO THANK THE HILLBILLY BUGGER BOYS, CORPORATION, THE WICK (RIP) AND EVERYONE WHO WAS THERE FOR THAT SHOW.
COMPLETING THE TASK OF OUR FIRST SHOW WE SET OUT TO RECORD AN EP. FIRST WEEK OF MARCH WE RECORDED 7 SONGS WITH DAN PRICE IN THE WICK (RIP) ON A SUNDAY FROM 12-5 WHEN THE BAR OPENED. WE USED THE STAGE AND THE BAR AND RECORDED ON THE FLY. THAT RIGHT WE RECORDED IT DOWNSTAIRS WHILE THE BAR WAS CLOSED AT THE END OF ONE TRACK YOU CAN HEAR THE FIRE ALARM RING IN THE BACKGROUND. THIS WAS NAMED THE DEMO.
THINGS WENT WELL FOR AWHILE BUT CONFLICT WITH THE DRUMMER GREW TO A CLIMAX MIDDLE TO END OF APRIL. HE WAS ASKED TO LEAVE THE BAND AND MARCUS FROM THE DARKNESS (DRUMS) TOOK OVER. APRIL GONE AND MOVING INTO MAY WITH A NEW DRUMMER AND SHOWS BOOKED WE WORKED LONG TO GET IT TOGETHER. NEVER CANCELING A BOOKED SHOW!!!!
THE END OF MAY ROLLED ALONG AND WE SET UP TO RECORD A THREE SONG EP. LIVE FROM THE SECOND FLOOR OF THE WICK (RIP). IN A ROOM AS SMALL AS A BEDROOM. WE RECORDED LIVE FROM THE JAM ROOM. THIS WAS DONE STRAIGHT TO ANALOG AND IN ONE TAKE. THE BASS DRUM BROKE WHEN WE TRIED TO GET A SECOND TAKE.
AUGUST MARKUS FROM THE DARKNESS BEING THE HARD CORE DEATH METAL HEAD RETURNED TO SAINT EMBOLIZIM FULL TIME. THIS RESULT AT THE END OF AUGUST SET US BACK A BIT.
AFTER A FEW MONTHS THE GIFT OF CORY CHAD WAS GIVEN TO A.P.E. MOVING ON AND WORKING HARD WE SET UP TO RECORDED A LIVE CD IN DECEMEBER OF 2008. WOW LOOKING BACK AT THE YEAR WE ALL FELT GOOD AT OUR ACCOMPLISHMENTS 30 SHOWS AROUND THE LONDON AREA. THE DEMO, LIVE FROM THE JAM ROOM AND THE TO BE RELEASED WE NEVER GOT PAID!!!!! ALBUM.
LOOKING FORWARD TO 2009 AND WORKING HARD TO ENTERTAIN THE PEOPLE SOMETHING HAPPENED THAT WAS UNTHINKABLE. THE JAM ROOM WAS ROBBED. THAT RIGHT SOMEONE TOOK THE TIME TO BREAK THE LOCK AND STEAL EVERYTHING INCLUDING USED DRUM STICKS AND RANDOM GUITAR STRING SIZES. SCREW YOU FUCKERS WHO EVER THEY WHERE BECAUSE WE PUSHED ON.
APRIL 08 2009 WE PLAYED A SMALL RELEASE PARTY FOR OUR FIRST FULL LENGTH LIVE ALBUM "WE NEVER GOT PAID!!!!!" THANKS AGAIN TO THE HILLBILLY BUGGER BOYS, THE WRECKED ROOM AND THE GRIM BROTHERS.
IN MAY THINGS HAVE BEEN SLOW AS ALEX EFF (GUITAR) HAS LEFT THE BAND TO FOLLOW OTHER THINGS IN TORONTO.(GOOD LUCK ALEX) AND WE STILL ARE WAITING FOR A JAM ROOM. ALL HOPE IS NOT LOST AS WE MOVE IN TO LATE JUNE AND ARE GOING TO LOOK AT A JAM ROOM ON MONDAY. IF ALL WORKS OUT WE SHOULD MOVE INTO IT BY THE END OF THE WEEK. THIS WILL LET US START DOING AUDITIONS FOR A NEW GUITAR PLAYER.............
