About me: Long Beach Musicians League
Mission Statement
Our goal is to bring together all Long Beach Area Musicians to share knowledge and foster a learning environment for the advancement of personal growth in music.
Why:
When I moved to Long Beach I couldn't swing a stick without hitting a musician. I ended up playing music with a lot of competent, self critical musicians who could not seem to break out of the comfort zone that is the garage. Others I met played in bands one time or another, but they were too stuck living in their past to create anything new.
When:
Monday Nights at the Puka Bar Stage 8:00 to 11:00 pm. 710 Willow in LB.
This is a rough idea of what a month would look like.
First Monday
Music theory and application. The night will include 1 hour lecture and 2 hours lab. The first week we will cover Alternate Tunings.
Second Monday
The goal is to get bands to unplug and listen to each other. Let's just say almost acoustic.
Two Sets of music and some constructive criticism.
Third Monday
I hope to have LB Musician League members bring something to the table. New song ideas, if not I would like to bring in some authorities in the music business to answer questions.
Fourth Monday
Long Beach Huntington's Acoustic Electronica Noise Improvisational Freak Out
All learning sessions will be recorded.
All other ideas will be entertained. I hope to see all of you on January 7th 2008.
Thanks, Long Beach Huntington

Hey there, thanks for finding me! When are you thinking about moving here? It's an amazing, diverse music scene and still growing ... those of us involved with Colorado Artist Network are working to add to that and help nourish the community that continues to build. Message me with your thoughts or plans, or find us on facebook (we have a group and are generally more active over there). Sounds like you've really started a wonderful thing there, congrats! :)
hey Kenner-Kenny!! So,now that it's the day after your party...you still feel "excited"?? If you did it up right, you should be feelin' lotsa other things, but not excited!!! Hope you had fun! Ps-I found Deathspell Omega's "Procreation Epidemic" song on You Tube and if you want to watch a disturbing video with an icky little boy who's mean to kitties...be my guest....it's, um, somethin' and also, I just befriended Anhedonia on myspace, who has some really nice Swedish black metal music that I like that you can listen to.... anyway, hope you had a ripsnortin' good b-day!! ciao.
