We are in the process of establishing a small kennel and have three German Shepherd Dogs that are of a larger, old fashioned variety with a more laidback temperament. All our dogs are plush or long coat German Shepherds, also known as long haired German Shepherds or coated German Shepherds out of German and Shiloh lines. We feel these types of German Shepherd Dog are the most beautiful and strive to produce temperament and looks consistent to the dogs we have now.

Can anyone help me? our new male puppy is from champion German-import working bloodlines: Schutzhund I, II and III. 8 weeks old. He doesnt have the arched back. Do working dogs have straight backs or will he grow and get the arched back? He also has very sharp teeth. Is this cause he is a working dog? His teeth hurts.
can someone help me out? Our female long coated gsd is almost 2 years of age. We want to breed her. I just purchased another gsd and will be picking it up in june. It is a male puppy. My husband thinks that we need to purchase a shiloh dog just like our female. But our female isnt a shiloh. Just has long hair. She actually is only 65lbs and she might stay that big. Shilohs are not akc reg breed. My husband has this idea that we need to mate our girl with a shiloh. Our girl is akc reg. Can anyone explain to me how it doesnt matter, long hair or short as long as it is a full blooded gsd? This way I can tell my husband. He dont believe me. He says she must breed with a shiloh. He thinks our dog is a shiloh. She isnt.
