Being a Long Distance Voter is as easy as 1-2-3
1. Register to vote
Our Voter Registration Widget (powered by our partner, Rock the Vote) makes registering to vote a snap! Enter your information, print and sign the form, and mail it in before the voter registration deadline. Get started now!
College students can register to vote on campus or back home. Learn where your vote counts more with our partners at CountMore.org.
2. Request an absentee ballot
Every state has its own absentee ballot application. You'll need to mail your completed application to your county election official before the absentee ballot deadline. Once your application is approved, they'll mail you your absentee ballot. You'll find applications, deadlines and easy-to-follow directions in our Absentee Voter Guides.
3. Return your ballot by Election Day
This one's pretty straightforward. You'll fill out your ballot, sign where indicated, put a stamp on it, and mail it back to your county election official. The return address will be on the form. Just make sure your ballot is received by Election Day.
