"Springing out of the green and white of Athens, Ohio, Longfellow, is truly a trail-blazing group with more potential than they know what to do with. With clean melodies, smart lyrics, and an honest love for the music they produce you can't help but to get hooked. It is music that feels like the summer driving in your car with the windows down and a warm breeze blowing. "With a wide-eyed grin take it all in.."
-Sandy Boyer, WMSR, Miami University's Redhawk Radio
Melodically driven by keys, guitar, and violin, Longfellow is known for bringing a unique blend of instrumentation and influence to its personal style of indie pop/rock. Centered in Columbus, OH the group consistently tours throughout the state, where various listeners have made comparisons to Jack Johnson, Ben Folds, and Dave Matthews Band.
In February of 2005, Longfellow confidently unveiled itself to the music industry, and music lovers of all kinds, with the independent release of its debut album, entitled Jangling Tea Trolley . In the same year, Longfellow was one of 300 applicants selected from an international pool of artists to perform at the Cincinnati Midpoint Music Festival in Cincinnati, OH.
In 2006, the group was selected from a pool of over 1200 applicants to be a member of the Independent Artist Registry and is set to be listed in the upcoming edition of The Music Phone Book . In addition, the group plans to release a live CD later this year.
While the buzz builds through word of mouth, press coverage, and increased radio play, Longfellow continues to grow, sharing its love of music with a diverse community of fans.
