Long Tall Deb and the Drifter Kings blend a unique and tasty mix of Delta, Piedmont, Texas and Chicago blues, boogie-woogie, New Orleans style, and classic R&B and soul with generous helpings of original music.
Seamlessly blending the wisdom gained from their collective experience with fresh and youthful energy, the band is quickly gaining a loyal fan-base and acclaim for their dynamic and soulful live shows that range from intimate club settings to large outdoor festivals.
Members of the band include vocalist Deb Landolt, guitarist Richey B, Melvin Powe on bass and Doug "New York" Oscard on drums. As a result of winning the 2009 River City Ohio Blues Competition, the band will represent the Blues Jazz and Folk Music Society of Marietta at the International Blues Challenge in Memphis, Tennessee in February, 2010. Is this your first time at the Cambridge Elks? Cambridge is where I lived for the 29 yrs before moving here, and I've played at the Elks lots of times. I'm hoping I can get down for the Johnson Memorial ....I played in the Simcox Big Band with Bunk Johnson for years. ENJOY!
