Things I HATE: [enter rant] plastic people, constant chameleons (no, not like bowie) who completely follow and eat up what shit they're fed. They are PRODUCTS... of society. What's even more disturbing is that they actually convince themselves that they _are_ individuals unaffected by 'the popular status quo' and really like the shit called "modern independent music". Just look at your average Hot Topic employee (no offense and just for example) nine out of ten I'm certain (as I have met many of them) fit the mark. They waver and wander cluelessly with the wind... wHATEver's the "flavor of the weak"... heh, products. Whatever happened to being fucking real? to each their own, right? It's one thing to be diverse... it's another to be a poser. [winks]
Also, disco... in any form. Disguise it anyway you like (synth, ebm, rave, industrial) it's still fucking disco. right? Hey, if you wanna dance to it fine, ~embrace~ your bad taste... just don't call a turd a rose... cause it's still gonna stink. :)

oh yeah, finally, before listing your -favorite- bands at least _own_ one of their cds... these people aren't doing it for free ya know. And, for the love of goth(heh) spell their names correctly! (ex. Wolfsheim, the I before E rule doesn't apply -it's a _name_ stupid ass- and Bau Haus<---wtf is that?) I do realize people get in a hurry and the like but to add upper/lowercase and spaces??? where the f*ck's that from?
Anyway, I do also realize this scene has become so shallow and trite that those shiny new boots / shirt / dress / hair / makeup / whatever are calling you and will most likely catapult your acceptance, "coolness" and sadly credibility(?) to your equally ignorant peers.. BUT maybe, just ~maybe~ if you break down and actually buy that bauhaus cd instead... you -might- just get a clue... or possibly even ~inspired~ (imagine that?) and actually contribute something to the scene (besides being fashionable) rather than further raping and distorting it... then again what do I know?

ok, if I must, here goes. I prefer to take baths over showers. I have bleach blond hair and wear black eyeliner & have for years (go figure). I love cats... kittens... puppies... girls, [real] goths, guinness and nachos! Anything cute I call "chicken"... like my cats... or kittens... or even most of my past/present girlfriend(s). It's kind of a term of endearment type thing. Everyone always says I should have been a comedian... apparently, I'm pretty funny? whatever. I dunno. :) then again I've also been told I should be on the radio as an announcer or singing in a band... apparently I've a nice vox too! ;) I generally tend to see the good in people, over the bad and I often read people with incredible accuracy... unless, of course, the person happens to be a _really_ cute girl... then my senses get all kinds of distorted... and... well, I become completely retarded. [smiles]
People tend to think I'm happy all the time... often to the point of becoming almost upset/pissed about it (as if I knew some 'secret to life' & wasn't sharing?) They're always asking me -why- I'm always smiling or "how come you're _always_ happy?" heh, if they only knew. :( <-- me sad... a lot! I think I (unintentionally) have a public side... and then there's me, in private... alone. often _very_ morose... sometimes... even... suicidal? how "goth"! -heh, nah... apparently, I'm just "frontin'!" I was born here (houston) -blah- basically went out to clubs, shows, record shopped, dreamed of being a rock star, broke some hearts (hey I was young) and joined the giant push for benefit-type-things like amnesty international, animal/human rights, anti-apartheid, etc. etc. and the like. I was a punk and an anarchist... heh, or so I thought... then I fucked off and joined the air force! (no, really) lived in the UK for two _wonderful_ years, traveled europe (loved it!), returned to the states (austin) and then, after another couple of years, finally returned home.
I started out listening to typical shit (like everyone else?) I have these horrid memories of listening to the radio in my parents old station wagon and it putting me into a bored to tears "oh god, please help me / kill me" type state... then I discovered punk!!! (sex pistols, damned, clash, exploited, etc.), found myself learning and leaning towards post-punk (as it was happening then), onto death-rock and goth and then the more ~morose~ sounding 80's-90's brit-pop (not quite what it's become to mean today - but then neither is 'goth', right?). I just really like GOOD music!
I've run record shops, worked with and for (major & independent) labels, dj-ed, promoted bands, shows, club nights, etc. written for random publications and interviewed the likes of peter murphy, daniel ash, robert smith, ian mcculloch, switchblade symphony, wayne hussey and porl king (to name a few). met a gazillion fairly "famous" people here and in europe. stayed friends with a few.
I _love_ coffee and conversation with friends, good shows, music and meeting people... but mostly, time alone with my girlfriend. <-- who's quite wonderful herself, btw! :) UPDATE: girlfriend gone bye bye :( apparently she wasn't as wonderful as I thought [sigh] no really. If you only knew the half of it. right... :/
anyway, I'm open minded, thoughtful, forgiving (in most cases) highly passionate and usually _very_ friendly... or so I've been told... but I can also be a _real_ pisser if pushed. so watch it! I'll cut you! [grins] (actually, everyone that -knows- me knows, I wouldn't hurt a fly) [winks]

My proper band BloodPenny has our lineup finally solid with a new vocalist (actually he does double duty with us and "steampunk" band and Mick Mercer fave Unextraordinary Gentlemen) and the new material is sounding great...Cant wait to load it up and get some feedback from you. Sounds a lot to me from the rehearsal recordings like early Sisters (circa 1983-1985) with Killing Joke guitar...should be great.
Oh yeah, did I mention that I have ROW 5 IN THE PIT tix for Echo in October?? I did?? ahhh....well, I wanted to reaffirm that awesome bit of info.
