For nearly two decades Lonnie has graced the dance charts with such worldwide number hits as “Happening All Over Again,” “Gonna Catch You”, “Bad Mood.” and "No Regrets" to name but a few.
This truly talented artist has personally set high standards for herself and has more than reached them everytime. From humble beginnings in the New York Bronx districts to gracing Stages all over the world. Lonnie has never forgotten her roots and it clearly eminent that she has been graced with the unique ability to apply herself to almost anything that is put to her.
She began singing at the age of 6 and got her break at just 13 years old at the famous Apollo Theatre in New York at age doing amateur hours, but this was just the first stepping stone to her now very highly successful career.
Just a singer, hell no, over the last four years Lonnie has starred as the lead vocalist and narrator for "Zumanity" another side of Cirque du Soleil, in Las Vegas. Working with Cirque du Soleil and moving to Las Vegas, was a bold career move that provided an opportunity for Lonnie to showcase her strong vocals and incredible stage presence. This engagement allowed her to both learn, and understand the inner workings of what is considered the most successful theatrical company in the world. It also prepared her, for the next stage of her long distinguished career, becoming a Performing Artist encasing her all-round talent.
It is here in Vegas whilst performing nightly, Lonnie discovered her love for visual arts and she began experimenting with acrylics, oils, photography and sculptures,the result, Lalonnie's Art.
Lonnie's work has been exhibited at various Galleries and is catching the eyes of New York gallery owners. Again, proof that this powerhouse fortress of a woman has far outweighed the expectations of all things Diva.
Lonnie is the first to remind everyone, that the one true blessing in her life is her daughter, Rikki, who resides in Europe. “The most brilliant thing I feel that I’ve done in my life is have my daughter, when she was small she always came to my gigs. She knows what I do for a living and what I do is really for her. I’m not the kind of person that holds back on how I feel about my daughter, if it’s good enough for me to do, it’s good enough for her to be a part of and involved in. We get along really well and have a great relationship.”
Wildminx Productions in Australia is working with Lonnie designing the covers for the two Anthology's and Anthems Vol 1. Lonnie and Wildminx are also working on some other projects being Lalonnie's Art Gallery,her Official Website and a few more suprises are in the works for 2008.
So who are Wildminx Productions you may wonder? They are the culmination of Reagan Wilde and Loco Minx, two Australian guys who have struck a chord with Lonnie through todays technology via the Internet. Loco, a graphic artist and web designer and Reagan, a makeup artist and web designer but these two have another side to them also. For nearly 30 years combined they have both been Drag Performers/Artists working extensively throughout Australia. Reagan fondly remembers Lonnie's outraegous over the top performances at Sydney's famous SLEAZE BALL back in the 90's where she literally stopped the stadium with her belting soul, she stared down at Reagan in the crowd of 30,000+ people and waved kisses to. Now all this time down the tracks they hook up on myspace, instantly sparking a bond that has now grown into a definate connection with the three. WILDMINX are both thrilled and honoured to become part of this next chapter of Lonnie's journey through life.
