Hahaha that is so funny you said that. Mike Box came into town over the weekend and we were almost going to see her play with Low versus Diamond but I had to work. I think Mike Box is trying to make it back here at the end of November or October for another road trip. He said he wouldn't mind splitting the gas with you and Derrick if you wanted to make a random stop for the weekend. We are going to see Nada Surf.
Godspeed You! Black Emperor? That band is pretty tight as well. If you are into more electronic mixing stuff go check out Holy Fuck. They put on an amazing live show. Also cop that Girl Talk man. It is bananas!

Hey, bro...I tried to shoot you a message, but for some reason, your page won't let me. Anyways, I'm sure you have a good idea of the sort of things you need to go backpacking, but here are a few things that I would make sure I had.
-Good solid fixed blade knife that's capable of slicing, skinning and chopping (a 5" to 9" blade is best...anything smaller or larger won't work as well) -small pocketknife for more intricate skinning and slicing -Whetstone (for sharpening knife...use water as lubricant, as oil may not be attainable backcountry) -Plenty of 550 cord (parachute cord) Any strong, thin cord will do, but 550 cord is ideal, there is so much that you can do with it. -Water purification (tablets, purifier, whatever you prefer) -Some type of mess kit/pot to boil water and cook food in -Insect Repellent/Sunscreen -Sleeping equipment: Tent, pad, sleeping bag, pillow. (Try to get as much "backpacking" specific stuff as you can, as it's lighter and more compact) -Compass and Map of Area and/or GPS -Good flashlight w/extra batteries and bulb -Fire Starter (something that's waterproof...a lot of regular lighters won't work after being submerged in water) -Waterproof bag (for clothing, and any items in your pack that you don't want to get wet) -Dried food and energy bars ("just add water and boil" food is lightest, and engergy bars give you quick energy on the move) -Canteens or Water bottles (Nalgene or equivilant...make sure to have several...water is heavy, but you can't do without it, and you always need more than you think.
That's all that I can really think of right off the top of my head. Anything else is pretty much just nice to have, like a camp stove, lantern, ect... just depends on how much room you have in your pack, and how much weight you're willing to carry....always remember lighter is better....you'll know why at the end of a long day's hike! I
