Lookout was a Christian metal band in existence during the late 80's and early 90's. The band was formed by Pastor Rick Moyer with himself on vocals. Throughout the years there were many members in the band:
Don Stone (guitar)
Kenny Miller (drums)
Joe Perry (guitar, BGV)
Mike Dean (lead vocals, guitar)
Gerimy "Ged" West (bass, BGV)
Steve Arnold (drums)
Les "Buddy" VanBrunt (drums)
Rich Jensen (bass)
Jeff Perrin (bass, BGV)
The band went through a lot of changes throughout the years, with the biggest change being when Rick Moyer left the band and Mike Dean took over vocals. One thing never changed, though... the band's love for Jesus and their mission to reach young people.
Lookout released their first recording called A
Dangerous Life... in about 1988 which featured Rick Moyer on vocals. Favorite songs included Can't be a Christian and Don't Take The Mark.
During this era, Lookout played concerts with bands such as Whitecross and Darrell Mansfield Band.
In 1991, after Rick Moyer had left the band and Mike Dean took over on vocals, Lookout recorded a demo produced by Paul Jackson who was the guitarist of Bloodgood. It was actually recorded in a shed in Paul Jackson's back yard :-) The favorite song of this demo was Armageddon which can be heard on this page.
A couple of years later, Lookout recorded another demo called Degenerate Society with Paul Jackson. This one was recorded in a much nicer shed behind Paul's much nicer house :-) The favorite songs on this demo were Parasites and Akeldama.
Lookout played many shows, mostly in the Western Washington area. They met many people and spoke to a lot of youth.
Lookout called it quits in 1994, but they remain the best of friends to this day.
Well I like to stir the pot and play one side off the other. I can't take sides yet. My wife has to meet you first she is a better judge of character than I am I tend to trust everybody (she is much more discernning) she can't stand Les. (just kidding) LOL :)
