OUR LAST LOOKOUT ARTIST
Cooly Haste began rapping & producing Hip Hop as a teenager in the mid-eighties. Born & raised on the Isle of Wight (south coast UK) he continued bedroom production & party hosting through the nineties & into the new millennium.
In 2005 he assembled a live band to perform at that year’s Bestival. Since then they have been recording & performing their unique brand of Hip Hop to both local & worldwide acclaim.
Other highlights include playing at Bestival 06, 07 & 08, supporting several high profile US Hip Hop acts locally, regular gigs in Portsmouth as well as a live radio session on the city’s Express FM, and headlining showcases in London & Brighton.
The Band
Randy Bones creates most of Cooly’s backing tracks. Heavily influenced by Electro, Hip Hop and Rare Groove. Began DJing in 1986. Later established two labels; Prime Directive and Precise Daily Rhythm, releases on Groove Jazz Records. www.myspace.com/randybones

After establishing a solid live act and recordings, J-Treole smashed expectations through gigging in and around Cambridge and swiftly flowed into London. 2006, 2007 and 2008 have seen the band perform more than 90 shows of their "unique blend of Jazz-Hop" regularly in venues throughout London including Dingwalls with Omar, The Fly with Eddie Argos [Art Brut], Cargo, Proud Galleries, 93 Feet East, Nottinghill Arts Club and in Cambridge - The Junction, The Barfly, Queens College with The Klaxons & Shlomo, Anglia Ruskin University with Alex Zane amongst many others and receiving great reviews and critical acclaim along the way.

This Wednesday we're lucky enough to have legendary rare groove vocalist and MC Stacy Epps passing through to bless us for a moment. Her sound has been described as blending elements of the most spiritual essences of Alice Coltrane, mixed with the abstraction of Bjork, the spaciness of Radiohead and the drums of J-Dilla...so we figured she'd be right up your street! You've probably heard her song Floatin' already from Gilles Peterson's most recent installment - Brownswood Bubbler's 3, and hot off the Unity stage at Hip Hop Kemp Stacy is ready to rock Lookout! with something in her back pocket for all you soul, hip hop, jazz and whatever's good music heads...
