Look to the Sky was an indie rock group formed by Myki Aslyn and Scott Racette in early 2006. They released their debut cd on Power Out records in 2007 with their other band members, Scott Shumaker, Mark Racette, and Andy Brown, highlighting lyrics of hopeless romanticism. The group played many benefits to give back to the community, and along with other shows, put their hearts into their performances. When Look to the Sky could no longer function to their full potential due to internal band problems, founding member Myki Aslyn withdrew from the band, while the rest of the group went onto an endless hiatus in mid 2008.
Their Debut Cd, "The Long Year After..." is the band's living testament of broken love as well as the band's final mark on the Richmond music scene. Acoustic medley's and piano ballads laced with violin and meaningful lyrics span the cd from beginning to end telling the story of a lover doomed. "The Long Year After..." is available at most independent cd stores by request, online at CDBABY, INTERPUNK, and LOOKTOTEHSKY.NET, and for download by most online digital services, including I-Tunes, Amazon MP3, Napster, Ruckus, and others.
