| Bio | Hello there, I’m Lorcan McGrane. I came to Norwich in Oct 2002 to a PhD in superhero movies, in summer 2006 I started working in the Rose Tavern on Rupert Street around the same time as a certain Tom Moran.
He started a comedy club. I had been writing a blog since Nov 2004, after previous stints of writing comedy stuff for magazines (Buzz Magazine, Belfast, edited by Colin Murray and SixMag, edited by Gary Brynes) and working in publishing at H. W. wilson with John Green).
I asked for a slot, and he let me do one, god bless ’em, and I’ve being doing a lot of slots ever since (comedy wise) and to him I’m always thankful. I won a monthly heat of Yer Havin a Laff comedy competition at the Golden Star, and have performed at the Rose, The Queen Chrlotte, The Horse and Drey and The Workshop, with upcoming dates in all around Norfolk, London and Dublin.
I suppose my comedy is, if I had to define it: ’self-depriciating sexual geekdom’ , there’s a lot of sexual content, maybe, but not much swearing, it’s all described very politely, it’s like saying the most explicit thing in the world and you laugh at it, but it’s only when you’re walking home that you realise what I’ve said.
Gawd, I’m not making it all sound very funny, but it is.

Originally from a faraway drumlin-land of Monaghan, Ireland, Lorcan came to Norwich to do a PhD in Superhero movies, along the way he has worked as a barman, kitchen porter, and chef. Beginning stand up in 2006, he has foisted his perversions and Peccadilloes on an unsuspecting public with surprising success.
He is usually to be found pottering around second-hand book shops, comic shops, charity shops and dodgy book shops (or would do if Norwich had any decent ones). He has been hailed as a chronic masturbator, but he is actually really good at it.
