.. Hello Again. ......New Track Uploaded...... Well, it's been a while hasn't it!.... And to prove we haven't taken the vast profits from our last album ( "The Lords First Eleven... still available.. .... ..) and become Howard Hughes type recluses, we hereby announce the official uploading of some "Newstuff"... This particular "Newstuff" is our collaboration with the Soul Legends that are the Flirtations... The ladies bravely ventured down to our bunker of soul last year and added their dulcet tones to our new song "Bed Of Roses". The track is a little taster of the new collection we are currently beavering away on ... More as soon as it's finished! ........ .. .. .. .. ....................................To read the impeccable opinions of music journalists check out the reviews we have uploaded to the photo/pics section of the page. .. Mojo, Q, Word, Blues and Soul etc have not been miserly in their praise and we of course have taken this totally to heart... .......... .. .. .. .. .... ....“This is f**cking great man. The boys have done a fantastic job.” – Paul Weller .... “Wickedly winning stuff…a great innings for contemporary British soul” – Metro newspaper.... “It just hooked me immediately. Transported from a time long ago into the 21st century, this debonair devotee of sartorial elegance will whisk you into a whimsical world that is long forgotten. Lord Large has crafted exquisitely elegant songs, lavishly laced them with strings, pianos and organ breaks, inserted the most delightfully hand-picked singing legends, and then wrapped it all up in a finest silk knot masterpiece. Said the record company. .... This unbiased acclaim is not a salute to one character alone. To be fair, no modern day hero can truly operate without the help of a right hand man. Like Sergeant Wilson to Captain Mannering, Large permanently keeps by his side his chief-of-security, Andrew J. Jones, whose new job as Executive Producer of Music means he now rolls his sleeves up at the mixing desk... Together, Large and Jones have managed to elicit help from the cream of British musicians and singing talent for the making of their first Lord Large album, The Lords First XI. Though they have been making music together since leaving school, other projects along the way have helped to pay the bills......... Large was the keyboard-player in the Electric Soft Parade, a band who won a Q award and a Mercury Music Prize nomination in 2002, and more recently has been out recording and touring with The Ordinary Boys, The Dualers, and Graham Coxon. He has also managed to fit in recording and touring the two post-Squeeze solo albums of Glenn Tilbrook. Numerous TV appearances have included keyboard surfing on TOTP with the E.S.P., dueting with Glenn Tilbrook on Later with Jools, and swinging with Rod Stewart on the Paul OGrady show..... As for Jones, his music will already be familiar to you as he has written & produced over a dozen TV themes, as well as incidental music for numerous TV series, documentaries, and music for the films Fakers and Saving Grace. Jones has also gigged and recorded with Morcheeba on the Big Calm album, and produced half of the recently released album The Debt Collection from The Shortwave Set, which was one of the hottest and most critically acclaimed albums of last year... For the recording of The Lords First XI, the following singing legends lent their outstanding vocal talents: .... Clem Curtis (The Foundations).... Dean Parrish.... Robert Bradley .... Glenn Tilbrook (Squeeze).... Andrea Britton .... Ashley Slater (Freakpower).... Linda Lewis .... Roy Phillips (The Peddlers).............. .. -
