High Falutin’ represents the true meaning of "it takes a village." The original tunes were written by Lori Cherry and Devin Rice. The tunes were then brought to life with the help of Co-Producer, Tom Bell, as well as Engineer, Steve Connelly and Assistant Engineer, Jose Santos of Zen Recording in St. Petersburg, FL. The musicians who contributed to this labor of musical love were Devin Rice, Tom Bell, Charlie Morris, David Cotten, Steve Connelly, Kevin Holloway, Todd Bowman, Jimmy Griswold and Mike Chavers. Cover photos and graphic design by Devin Rice and Dawn Fader. Lori will be forever indebted to these wonderful, talented people for collectively making her lifelong dream come true.
I am pleased and excited to announce that Giacomo La Rosa’s film, “La Verita’ del’ Attimo” (The Truth of the Moment), featuring the music of Lori Cherry and Devin Rice, is now available on DVD!! Organized chaos pretty much sums up this gal's life. Singer/songwriter (and half-assed guitar player) Lori Cherry was born and raised in Brooklyn, New York where she began her singing career in church (so cliche, but true). After singing in several bands throughout the 80's/90's and living the stereotypical rock-n-roll lifestyle, old New York grew cold on her...so in 1997, she left everything behind and ultimately adopted Treasure Island, Florida as her home. Shortly after her arrival, she was delighted to discover a vast pool of musical talent in her new surroundings and eventually developed close friendships with many local musicians. Lori felt blessed when these gifted friends agreed to contribute to her debut CD, High Falutin', which was released in the Spring of 2005. In the late spring of 2009, Lori began singing with a local band of fine musicians, The Jokers. They are Pat Brogan on guitar, Smokin' Joe Porter on bass and Harlan Brown on drums. Check our gig schedule and come on out to groove with us!
