collaborations with various friends, coming soon, you'll see!
Influences
From from classical to hard techno, with a bit of balkan beats, various elements of dance, gypsy punk, house, indie and sunny euro pop in between. I can't put my finger on a specific genre, but if I like it I do and if I don't, I don't. Simple as that really.
Are you sitting comfortably? Then we'll begin... (drink tea/skim read!)
I migrated from le north west of England to live in London. I'm currently learning how to teach people (from little people to the wise elders) how to play BASIC ukulele. If you're already intermediate, then I know a man (Mr B) who can. I can get you from zero to strumming a song happily in a lesson, and over the course of time, strumming many songs happily ;) If you're interested, drop me a line on lorraine@karauke.net
I'm also very experienced in and open to freelance events/production management work. In short, I like being daft, and flock to most daft people and things, thankfully they seem to flock to me too.
Ukulele stuff: Ukulele Wednesdays
I started a ukulele jam night in London in April 2007 after enjoying learning ukulele at a beginners workshop with the amazing Hester and George from the Ukulele Orchestra of Great Britain. I called it Ukulele Wednesdays and it's going well, I never imagined that sooo many ukulele players would or could come along. We get visitors from all over the world and around the UK, so pop in and have a beer and a sing-song if you're free one Wednesday. More info here www.myspace.com/ukegottobekidding... If you're on facebook you can see footage, and be friends with everyone and chat and everything, see the group 'Ukulele Wednesdays'...
Ukulele stuff: KaraUke
As an offshoot a comedy outfit I formed a ukulele band called KaraUke in November 2007 - literally karaoke with a (big) backing band of ukulele's (none of us can sing!). We've played a lot of gigs and festivals since then, summer '08 was FULL ON! To make life easier, I set up a monthly residency in January 2009. Come sing with us, you'll love it! More info including audio and gig dates here: www.myspace.com/karaUke or www.karauke.net... If you're on facebook you can see footage from gigs, and be friends with everyone and chat and everything, see the group 'KaraUke'...
Active stuff: Swimming
Having lived a life of relative physical inactivity, I took to fitness in my late 20s. I learnt to front crawl in 2008 especially to swim to Bestival on the Isle of Wight. It got called off, due to gale force 9 winds. Waiting to hear what's happening re rescheduling, but doing my second Bournemouth Pier to Pier in the meantime!
Active stuff: HELP PLEASE!
I do still need your sponsorship for an 84 mile charity walk across Hadrian's Wall that I organised from 19 September 2008. An amazing Charitable Organisation that sends educational resource to very poor Malawian children sadly suffered the backlash of charity fatigue, as everyone had got sick of helping me last year because I did a lot of charity stunts. Please dig deep one last time - To help, click and donate here :)

If you have walked in the heart of the Green wood and have bathed in the light of its living force remember what you have felt; and whenever you pass a tree whether it stands alone in a wilderness of human making or in the depth of woodland, give a moment of your time to listen to its voice.
For in many parts of the land the trees are dying only the hearts that know something of the true wisdom can save them. (Anon)
