“A heart-felt and dramatic [performer]” Queens College Knight News, 2005
Lorrie Doriza is a New York based singer, songwriter and arranger. She founded her musical education on classical piano and voice but discovered early on a love for songwriting. After much traveling during her childhood, she finally settled in New York where, in three years, she finished her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from CUNY Queens College. She then went on to study Studio Composition, for her Master of Music degree, at SUNY Purchase College where she graduated summa cum laude.
Lorrie is a regular performer in the NYC, Westchester and Long Island music and art scene where she has performed with various bands throughout the years. Her music covers an array of genres ranging from an eccentric blend of quirky noir cabaret, swing, polka and classically inspired waltzes to pop ballads and upbeat rock anthems. Her song collaboration “Find A Way” with producer Stoupe, of underground hip hop group Jedi Mind Tricks, was internationally released on Stoupe’s album “The Decalogue” (2009, Babygrande Records) to rave reviews. Currently, she is working on a trip-hop side project with Stoupe called Vespertina. Their full-length album is set for a 2010 release date, followed by a pan-American tour.
It is a great day to be alive! Thanks for including me!
What Question can I ask to empower myself and others? What new thought can I notice now to add to my creativity? How can I improve the experience of those I encounter today? What can I do to facilitate your Gift?
Yesterday Is History Tomorrow is a Mystery Today is a Gift... That's why we call it the Present

The world is round The rain comes but once a week The globe where we all live, In our blue skies above Looking for what we all do want, The spirit of peace and love
Wanting that baby in our arms to hold Watching a friendship grow From birth to days of old As the tears roll down When all is not good And we smile when The sun does come again
Seeking angels, In pastures of green, Weeping children, And, Hunger pains to cry We look to God, In prayers of forgiveness In asking ourselves, why
The world is round This globe where we all live, Under blue skies of grey cloud We fight wars, and we fight to be proud We feed the hungry, we defend the poor, Then we look to the heavens, And ask for more
Wanting that baby in our arms to hold, Not wishing for a babies tears to cry As the tears roll down When all is not good And we smile when The sun does come again
Seeking angels, In pastures of green, Weeping children, And, Hunger pains to cry We look to God, In prayers of forgiveness In asking ourselves, why
As the tears roll down When all is not good And we smile when The sun does come again
The world is round This globe where we all live We feed the hungry, we defend the poor, Then we look to the heavens, And ask for more
As the tears roll down When all is not good And we smile when The sun does come again We smile, when we know Tomorrow will reign
