Music, friends, animals, outdoors (ok, indoors too), art, movies, books, vampires, live theatre and musicals, trying new things, breaking rules, singing and laughing out loud.
Needed to survive: chocolate, burritos and Coca-Cola products. I love to meet people who show/teach me things I did not know and get me to do things I have not done yet.
Music
The soundtrack of my life. I can pinpoint a moment in time in my life by the song that played in the background (sometimes if only in my head). I'll give just about anything a listen. Wang Chung used to really get on my nerves in the late 80's but I've mellowed.
I'm not heavily into country or rap I guess. I love 80's rock, 70's harmony rock, classical, jazz, heavy heavy shit, sappy lite stuff, new stuff, old stuff....
Top faves that have withstood the test of time.....Bon Jovi, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Rush, Queensryche and Jimmy LaFave. Femmes sing-along anyone?
Absolute current faves? Kicking K8 and Evolocity - #1 and #2 on my friends list. Please check them out!
I could list hundreds I love, but who'd read all that? I'm the type of person who will buy a cd after hearing a great song just once and know all the words before the 3rd spin is through. I am rarely disappointed. I've also been into the local Chicago scene since the 80's. From Kats, the Thirsty Whale, Gateway, etc....thru today. I'm happy to still be stuck in the scene.
Movies
I love comedy and horror - if they are combined, even better! Animal House is probably my all time fave. It's just so classic and has some of the best movie quotes ever! As in books, I love anything to do with vampires.
Movies I can watch over and over.....The Doors, Velvet Goldmine, any Blade, Rockstar, Sid and Nancy, Mystery Alaska, Spinal Tap, Birdcage, A Knight's Tale, Desperado, The Muppet Movie, EverAfter, Interview with a Vampire, Farinelli, Blues Brothers, Parenthood, Moulin Rouge.....
Television
.. width="425" height="350">......>
I am guilty of watching too much tv! This will probably be an ever changing category.....
Shows I am addicted to: Nip/Tuck, The Soup (the best way to catch all the best/worst clips of the week), The Daily Show, Big Love, Gene Simmons Family Jewels, Shark Week on the Discovery Channel
Guilty pleasures: Mythbusters, Talk Sex with Sue, Miami Ink, Mindfreak, A&E Biography, Behind the Music, True Hollywood Story, the MTV/VH1 reality shows. I don't like any of the major network reality shows. I love Headlines every Monday on the Tonight Show.
Reruns: Buffy, Angel, Living Single, My So Called Life, Absolutely Fabulous, Vicar of Dibley,
Shows that need to come back somewhere: The Young Ones, Twin Peaks, Gigglesnort Hotel, Dinosaurs (I'm the baby, gotta love me!), Schmoo (anyone else remember that?) MTV with music videos!
Books
Books are a close second to music in my life. I've been a ferocious reader since I learned how to read. It's a great escape. As a kid I'd take on all the Greek and Roman myths. Judy Blume taught me what my mother would not. I tried War and Peace one summer - around 5th grade. Never made it through though! Same thing with the Satanic Verses a few years later. Other than that, I love to read almost anything.
I'm in a book club at my local library. I get to read things I'd normally never see. Lovely Bones by Alice Siebold was a great find. Illusions by Richard Bach and An Enemy at Green Knowles have been faves since childhood. I love books that make you think or teach you something. A Skeleton in God's Closet and Memnoch the Devil have caused a lot of thinking!
Top faves are always vampire books - I have tons. Anne Rice (fan forever), Dan Brown, Andrew Greeley are top fave authors right now. I love to read biographies and auto-biographies - not just to learn about the person, but to see what the world was like around them at that time. I love music books as well. I've started a collection of erotic fiction - I call it research. My goal is to start writing again - there's a vampire book in my head and tons of "adult" short stories. ;)
I always am reading at least 2 books at once - with a stack of a dozen or five to get to! But please feel free to recommend some of your faves!

People who are true to themselves and those they love. People who surive and deal well with adversity. Definitely people who can laugh at themselves. Not sure who said it, but a fave quote: "Blessed are they who can laugh at themsleves for they shall never cease to be amused"

I have a bad habit of logging on here and just leaving the computer on forever. I am really not on here as much as you think!
I am a positive, loyal, friendly and honest person....who's a little twisted...but in a good way! I try hard, care a lot and tend to keep my friends forever. I love music, laughing, fun, friends, family, animals....... I don't like drama, trauma, lies and mean crap. Do I sound Pollyanna? Far from it! Honesty is key for me. I've got a wild side but also play well with others. I once told a guy I was his average everyday sane psycho supergoddess!! ha! (He replied by saying Liz Phair was a sell-out and then kissed me.) .. Check my boys out!!!
Who I'd like to meet: ...new friends, find old friends, music fans, people who share cool interests. Mr Right would be nice too, but he must not spend too much time surfing the web!
Brazilian rhythms and the Portuguese language added to the songs makes £leTriKa style unique, giving birth to a new kind of Metal. If you are really looking for something new about Metal, you should check £leTriKa out!

So it's about that time of the month again . . . get your mind out of the gutter you sicko!! There's no cramping or Midol here! Haha. Instead it's time for your precious comment section to become even more filled with useless crap, though within this highly irrelevant message lies a point. For some reason we keep getting asked to do concerts, which is odd because no one goes to concerts anymore, especially not in Chicago on Saturday nights over New Years weekend. That's ridiculous. You're being ridiculous. Stop being so ridiculous. Have you ever been to this phantom, "Chicago?" It's like a ghost town with tumbleweeds blowing through. Either way, we're having a FREE (why is that capitalized?) show at Double Door (1572 N. Milwaukee Ave) on Sat. Jan. 2nd @ 8pm and figured, what better way to kick the two day lull after New Years than with angsty white guy Rock and wannabe Hip Hop? That was a question and we'd appreciate an answer, haha. So get your drink on for New Years eve, sober up New Years day, and do it all over again with your boys (yours not ours, we're absolved) on Sat. Jan. 2nd @ Double Door! Hope the holidays have found you in good health and spirits! Peace.
Scrollllll down in your activities and you'll see Mr. Jack...or check your e-mail for what I just sent ya. I didn't send you the e-mail because I figured you'd see him here or at that "other" place.
