Formed in 2005, Ben Bogart's project "los Gatos Azules" brings the excitement, energy, and precision of the Golden Age of Argentine Tango to dancers around the United States. Playing classics from Juan D'Arienzo, Carlos Di Sarli, Miguel Caló and many other orchestras of the time the band strives to bridge the current disconnect between dancers and musicians in the world of Argentine Tango.
Pianist Evan Griffiths and Bandoneonist Ben Bogart have been working together to accurately transcribe orchestral arrangements from the Golden Age of tango as a resource to other musicians who would like to play tango music. These resources will soon be available to everyone. There is also a free collection of Lead Sheets available at the online tango music community TangoJam.com
