Los Kamikazes: BAY COLLECTIVE

Well here's a way to answer both of those questions, with 13 songs from 13 great, independent, local artists, you're sure to find something you like, maybe even something you'll love.
BAY COLLECTIVE
CD RELEASE PARTY
The release party was tremendous, those of you who were there know what we're talking about. LKR would like to thank everyone for coming out and especially all the awesome performers: Katie Jay, Move, Jay Trainer, Damond Moodie, Pebble Theory, Company Car and our kick-ass closing act Broken Dolls for their performances. As well as DJ's LadyHouse & Noetic for spinning throught the night.
Come join the celebration over the release of our new CD – Boteco!!
‘Boteco’ is an artful mixture of neo-futuristic traditional Brazilian rhythms with the right quantity of the best North American spices. It is funk and rock boiling and baking with samba, maracatu, frevo and baiao.
Put Pele and Mohammed Ali in a fictional mix machine. Now add Frank Zappa, Sergio Mendes, Tom Jobim and Roger Waters and fused in to one. What a mix eh? Bat Makumba is this fusion, multiplied by 2.
CD Release Parties: 10/31 Someday Lounge – Portland, OR 11/01 Cozmic Pizza – Eugene, OR 11/06 Moe’s Alley – Santa Cruz, CA 11/07 The Old Ironsides – Sacramento, CA 11/13 The Great American Music Hall – San Francisco, CA 11/21 Stage Door – Mount Shasta, CA 12/04 Harp Inn – Costa Mesa, CA 12/05 Santa Monica Bar & Grille – Santa Monica, CA ...more to come
...this Friday, June 15, when we play the Starry Plough in Berkeley.
According to astrologists and numerous country songs, this means even the best-laid plans can fall apart, so you'll need to make an extra strong commitment to come. My suggestion would be to write it in your datebook in blood. I have other handy tips too.
I think George Jones said it best when he sang, "Mercury retrogrades are a time for completions, especially if the planet is making key contacts in your natal chart and the jukebox ain't workin'." (From The Honky-Tonkin' Astrologer).
We're the first band, starting around 9. Hope to see you there. Chris
