| General | Building models of WW I U-Boats with matchsticks, translating acient biblical texts into pig latin (Hebrew is harder than Greek - that no vowel thing), and base jumping. | | Music | I like damn near everything that is original and well-done. Let's just say the Kris Kerry trinity is David Bowie, The Talking Heads, The Kinks, Iggy and the Stooges, Johnny Cash, Miles Davis, and Tom Waits (I know that is more than three, but naming only three is too difficult). I really like Mudhoney, The Jesus & Mary Chain, Belle & Sebastian, Radiohead, PJ Harvey, Dinosaur Jr., Elvis Costello, Jackson Browne, Pixies, Thin Lizzy, Uncle Tupelo, Cheap Trick, Merle Haggard and anything Greg Dulli does too. Urge Overkill rocks - they are a severely underrated band. And I guess I should include Dylan, The Beatles, Led Zeppelin, Patti Smith, Prince, The Ramones, Pink Floyd. I'm really fond of early Punk (ie, Stiff Little Fingers, The Buzzcocks, Wire), post-punk (ie, Gang of Four, Joy Division, The Sound) and soul/r&b (ie, Marvin Gaye, Sam Cook, Otis Redding, Stevie Wonder, etc.). Okay, I'm stopping now - I like a lot. | | Movies | Dead Man, Ghost Dog, The Godfather and Lawrence of Arabia | | Television | The Sopranos, The West Wing, Hardball with Chris Matthews and shows about UFOs and Bigfoot on the History Channel. | | Books | Wuthering Heights is boring... I kept waiting for The Hound of Baskervilles to kill Heathcliff. This would seem logical as they both are wondering around the Moors during the late Nineteeth century, right? If you ask me Bronte could have made a much more exciting book with a big spooky dog running around.... | | Heroes | Martin Luther King, Mahatma Gandhi, Charles Darwin, Gustav Klimt, Claes Oldenburg, Jimmy Carter, Frida Khalo, David Bowie, Tom Waits, Patti Smith, Jose Posada, Al Franken. |
