I will perpetually want to "Fade into you" when I hear Mazzy Star, Depeche Mode, "Madame Butterfly" Malcolm McClaren. Am I a Lost Cause? Because I can listen to Beck's Sea of Change album for about 2 weeks straight? Ol' Blue Eyes is essential. Perry Como gives me Magic Moments. I will always make myself comfortable when I hear Sarah Vaughn (actually that's music for flying), Love and Rockets, Interpol, Rolling Stones, Doors, Luis Miguel (I know, it's my la raza flava'), Jackson Brown...Because of Silverlake, Patsy Cline, Bowie, the Ramones(resurrected by the Jules), Japan (how could David Sylvian still be so pretty?), Visage, OMD,New Order, English Beat, I "Desire" Gene Loves Jezebel, Look into my red box of memories" (really it's no sonnet) with the Verve, Snow Patrol, The Furs, The Killers, Shins, Elefant, I love you but I Have Chosen Darkness, and of course...I will always toss my pixie dust upon the pretty, pretty boys of....

Peter Pan, Hook, Return to Neverland, Anything Almodovar, particularly "Women on the Verge of a Nervous Breakdown" (because we usually are), The Godfather 1/2, The Year of Living Dangerously (the soundtrack also fabulous), The Last American Virgin, Pretty in Pink, Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club, and Valley Girl (because you can't be a professor of all things eighties and not love them all), Henry and June (so sexy and it introduced me to the writings of Anais Nin), Unfaithful (because Olivier Martinez makes you want to be), Out of Africa (yes, still), Y Tu Mama Tambien, Frida (all the beautiful scenes of Mexico City), Rocky Horror Picture Show (my mom clearly should have known things were terribly awry when my first real "crush" was on Tim Curry as Frankfurter), Breakfast at Tiffany's (I still want to be Holly Go-Lightly sometimes). Auntie Mame, (my inspiration for the "golden years"). The Departed is my most recent fave, and Duma, I love a good boy and his cheeta story.

Never have time.....Sex in the City reruns, What not to wear (and they so shouldn't), Queer as Folk, Six Feet Under...hmmm a consistant theme..almost all cancelled. L Word, makes me want to be. Guilty pleasures? It's truly abhorant... Real World, My Sweet 16, and the Hills.

"On Mexican Time"..because it inspires my dream of retiring to San Miguel De Allende and painting away the rest of my life, House of Spirits and Like Water for Chocolate were both better read than "watched", LOVE Chuck Klosterman (reading him is like hanging out with your acerbic, insightful, drunk best friend), Candace Bushnell, Gabriel Garcia Marquez, Bee Season and The Mermaid Chair (Sue Monk), Bergdorf Blondes, 100 love poems (Neruda), The Devil wears Prada (oh yessss we dooooo), "You'll never work in this town again" (so trashy and yet sooo good), Anais Nin (makes me want to do bad things), Martha Stewart Weddings (c'mon it is my job), Us Weekly and Star (I know you do too!), The Chronicles of Narnia, Misty of Chincontegue (I really was a little girl who just wanted her own horse once), A Moveable feast (Hemingway), On the Road (Jack Kerouak), I have always been a voyeaur into darkness for William Burroughs, and of course, Breakfast at Tiffanys *Yes, there was a book too.
