Katie, was born and raised outside of Atlanta, Georgia where she played soccer and sang in choral pop groups. Katie’s ipod includes elastica, hole, magnapop, tegan and sara, johnny cash, ani difranco, willie nelson, janis joplin, modest mouse and disney movies.
Originally from Long Beach, CA, Carol grew up living in France, Samoa, and Mexico. She came to Utah early and stays for the rock climbing and snowboarding. She is influenced by free poets and jazz music and has a fondness for shostakovitch, black flag, tchaikovsky, jello biafra, slayer, rage against the machine, clutch, evil stig-the gits, tool, queens of the stone age, pj harvey, and the distillers.
Explorer Jamie Backman, the Utah keystone, grew up in the badlands of Salt Lake City, Utah. She loves all types of percussion and can be found keeping rhythm on whatever is around. She is moved by the ocean, the beats of native american and african tribal music, and enjoys listens to every thing and everyone. Music she loves includes cat power, patsy cline, and mickey heart.
Crossing alternative rock, indie rock, and pop with an original sound, Lost by Reason is currently writing their second full-length album.
