It was a breakthrough of significant proportions, an artery that would eventually link the immense flame-billowing steelworks of Sheffield with the gleaming pavements of London town. Its blinking ambers and streaks of bright red and white lights inspired two wide-eyed boys to depart their homeland, riddled with pharmaceutical slag-heaps and vast chimney stacks spewing chunky nogs of coal into the atmosphere above their heads, and to finally travel: sometimes north, sometimes south, to the two metropoles that, once they touched, gave birth to synthpop.
None of the above may turn out to be true, only time will tell. But without a Boss SE50 exchanged for cash across a table inside Sheffield station's ramshackle buffet, and an Akai sampler purchased from a Basildon music shop and driven home (not in a Ford but an Austin Metro), there would almost certainly be no LOST CONTROLLERS.
Hi Ewan Thanks for making it over to the final gig the other night, we appreciated the support, anyway see you guys at the Social in a couple of weeks. Cheers Dik
Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
I encourage all to visit the YouTube page to learn more (Show support! Rate! Comment!) and responsibly circulate as widely as possible, here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaIim3Rj7L4
Thanks for all your help and support with One Moment. This is the flyer for our Electronic night @ The Cookie Club, Notts, Dec 2nd. This takes part straight after the Gary Numan show @ Rock City.
Nah then nah then me owd! What a fine evening all round I thought. That is, in between wearily hanging on to the radiator and flobbing lung butter into the toilet sinks, I thoroughly enjoyed the proceedings. Was quite buggered the following day but am returning to some sort of normal health rapido thank christ. Sorry communications were compromised, I was to busy hacking to think up words! I'll put t'kettle on and warm up the multi-mode filters for imminent discussions about why you've not seen the brilliant 'Spring & Port Wine then. "He's like a bloody Mary-Ann"
Hi guys, thanks for the comment - yeah was good to meet you and chat with like minded people! Like I said last night, Stew and I enjoyed your set, think my favourite was the last one (??) with the lyric "leave the country", very catchy!! Must definitely hook up and put on a synth fulled evening of electro and proper songs!! Speak soon, cheers. Martin
